For those of you that do not know me on here yet , I work for Advance Auto Parts in the corporate office , we deal with Flowtech, Holley , Lunati , NOS , Hooker , Edelbrock , Hypertech and I am probably leaving out a few other vendors . So back to the subject , I talked to a tech from Lunati and a tech from Hypertech . Lunati cams for the 4.6L SOHC should be out within the next couple months if not weeks . They had a car on the dyno today and I asked him to email me Dyno graphs when they are done which I will post on here . And Hypertech part number 41027 which is a new one they have out for the 2002 GT , 2003 GT , 2003 Mach 1 and 2003 Cobra , even has adjustments for different blower pullies and cooling fan controls by the way for the cobra guys , should be available in about 3 to 4 weeks tops.

I made a reply to that very subject about the Comp cams base circle measurements being off, but Ken on Md told me that those were the first batch of cams and have since fixed the problem.

Just an FYI.

Are the Lunatis regrinds?

BTW, I have Comp Cams XE262AH cams and springs. I'm hoping they drop right in without any trouble.

the last motor I helped my old man with was a 502 build for his truck. we got back to back comp cams from summit that were .007". granted that is only .002" out of spec. Just tells me thier quality control is not top notch. two get two in a row like that tells me there are lots of cams that ship out that are not withing thier specs. I don't know their quality porcedure but the odds of getting two in a row are very small if it is good.

My .02 is run comp if you want just make sure you verify the specs. Don't take thier word for it. their is post on MD about this. a guy got two sets of cams in a row that were out of spec on one cam. the other cam was right on both times.

Me personally I am paranoid now and will proably check the cams no matter who they come from.

one thing I forgot to mention is that most people think if you order custom grinds you will be okay. the stuff I had problems with and the guy I mentioned were of the shelf parts.

i run comp cams and love them. off the shelf grind and they produced 45rwhp on a blown car. would have done more, but was being conservative.

well control issure. as in having avertised specs and sending out product that does not meet those specs. Most people don't actually check thier cams they just put them in. the smaller base circle thing was a joke to me. I would have wanted a new cams period. look at my previous post. what are the odds of getting back to back cams out of spec if they had a+ quality control? I guess it is a question of how maticulous are you about you engine? a car will still run with a cam out of spec it is just not optimum.

now that being said I don't mean not to run comp. I just mean be sure you check the cams. IF they spec out they are fine. You should really proably do this anyway it is just a hassel.
