MS3 Pro

So this one:

If so then @Mustang5L5 has finish his install and is now tweaking the tune.
Yeah, that one, but for a 94-95, and with the DD-EFI dash. I'm going to Mustang 5L5's channel right now. I am not tech inclined at all. This is dangerous for me.

That dash is sweet!
Yeah dude. That was the seller for me. I don't understand tuning like at all, I am not a tech savy person. The worst part about a MegaSquirt is that it's not an interface that many tuners are familiar with me. I called so many places that were local for a tune, and I can't tell you how many of them told me "Just get a Holley Dominator." I'm sorry, I have a really nice car, and I don't want to stare at an instrument cluster that looks like someone glued a Walmart kid's play tablet to my dash. I watched a bunch of consumer posted vidoes, and the DD-EFI looks like an OEM integrated display that would come in a new car today. The MS3Pro is made like 40 miles away from my house here in Cherokee, Georgia; probably by a bunch of slightly overweight middle aged women with soldering irons sitting on a leather bench stool. I threw my name in the hat on the waiting list to get a tune at Kurgan Motorsports that codeveloped the MS3 for Mustang. It's like a 3 month waiting list. I'll have to get it working well enough to get it on a trailer.

I actually haven't finished uploading all my videos on this yet. I have all the clips on my PC and just need some quiet nights to edit. But I can give advice if needed. My videos won't really focus on tuning, it's just more the initial setup and loading of a base tune and the initial settings you need to use.

I've been figuring it out on my own. As you know, not a whole lot of local tuners want to deal with MS. I managed to take the base tune and get a decent driving car now. Hopefully i can polish it up a bit in the spring. But base tune got me running and driving right out of the gate.

I have these two videos for now. SHould give you an idea on the install.

But haven't done the initial base tune setup video yet. Things like setting up your wide band, or adding injector data and such.

I don't think so. Megasquirt has been around since the 80s.

I know he was partnered up with another member offering the digital dash , then I remembered this thread lol-

You can keep the stock dash/cluster with the Holley stuff. You don't have to change it out at all.

I regular your channel and watched your videos last night. Always appreciate the help. I already youtubed how to adjust the base tune for 30lb/hr injectors, and that seemed really simple. I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain via messaging if I run into something. I am also talking to Ted Jenkins at Innovative Tuning. He makes all the conversion harnesses for like the AC and the flex fuel sensor.

Thanks,
Kurt

Believe it or not, this actually started with the dash. I was talking to onegauge about a digital dash that wasn't as nice, and I posted about it here. He just couldn't work out some of the details. I saw the DD-EFI dash, and thought it was perfect. I am trying to de 90s my car with all the pillar gauges and nonsense and put it all in one place. It just occurred to me one day that I'm going to need a new ECU if I ever get around to this turbo charger thing, and I might as well just do it now.

That's actually really cool, I had no idea. I remember when Steve was on here.

Kurt
He helped me get my MS2 dialed in when I went supercharged. Half dozen emails and datalogs back and forth and I was rippin . This was before he had his remote tuning business, and he didn't want any money for it. I found out he was an IBEW electrician, so I sent him some swag from our local and gift card from LMR. Wish he still did remote tuning, I'm doing a motor swap this winter and could use his help lol.

I'm curious on your guy's choice around here for the MS over the Holley.
Is it the harness replacement? Because from what i have heard the terminator X is more user friendly.

BTW, the dakota digital RTX i'm pretty sure works with all available systems.
If they do a black friday sale this year, it could be time for me.
Price has gotten out of control, but I feel like digital clusters in fox look all sorts of wrong.

I originally did because of the MSDIY kit. I'm an electrician and electronics hobbyist, and it was a great project for me. Still makes me feel good that I can go to the strip and beat up on guys in an old foxbody running on and ECU I soldered together and wired in my shop. I've had it so long I'm very familiar with the tuning software, so I'll probably upgade to MS3 at some point. Doesn't hurt that it's made in the USA either :nice:

I know it's more user friendly, that's why every tuner likes them. I've been monitoring the Terminator thing since they came out. I don't know if they fixed the quality problems with the Terminator, but I still see the same posts almost daily on the facebook groups. "I couldn't even get it to start, and found out this wire in the harness was defective," or "My car shut off when I was in the middle lane of I75." When it first came out, if a single sensor failed, it would just shut the car off. Like I said, I don't know if they fixed any of that stuff or not. I'm just not into the Chinese stuff. I went through like 4 of those MSD Digital 6 boxes before I finally went to a Daytona Sensors. The Daytona Sensors is all made by overweight middle aged women sitting on stools off of Beville Ave. I am sure it's the same for MS, a team of overweight middle aged women sitting on stools in Gainseville, GA. It was 100% a quality issue. Also, I have an SN which are still basically free; nobody cares what you do to an SN.
