Who cares? In 15-20 years you won't notice that Honda/Acura if you could even find one, and you damn sure ain't gonna hunt one down to restore.

I just need it quick enough to have a good time. Sporty is the word i'd use. My racing days are done and i have no desire to race people on the street. I'm just looking for that "attitude" when i cruise around on a nice afternoon.

If I remember correctly he's trying ProMaxx heads for the first time. Don't remenber the cam, but the heads should be much faster

I have TFS170's, not Promaxx. Custom grind cam and a ported Cobra intake. Not going to make crazy numbers but it should scoot along pretty well. Goal was never to make big HP numbers. I wanted lots of down low torque for street driving.

Gonna start tearing into this A/C compressor next.

It's heavy. It's in the way. Lets see what makes it tick.

Last time I tore into an AC compressor (to change the clutch) I found myself using a pry bar a lot, only to find that there are clips upon clips. If it aint moving, it's got a clip.

Edit: clip = snap ring

I've already got the clutch off. I have a brand new NOS clutch waiting to go back on. I have my seal kit for the compressor. Just going in, clean it up, reseal it and put it back together. Here's hoping that i don't find any issues with the internal components (Rust, scoring, bad bearings, etc).

If it looks like crap inside i'll just order a reman. Considering i'm filling my system with hard-to-find R12, i only want to do this once and not have any leaks

@Mustang5L5, you have inspired me to swap in a real power steering cooler. Do you happen to have a pic of the bracket you mentioned that you had to fabricate? Thanks!

I can take a pic. It was really simple to fabricate. Basically an L-bracket.

96-98 cobra cooler with a few tweaks in how it’s bent. Bolted in place on the drivers side and then I made a bracket and used a factory speed clip location to mount this other bracket.

just a small piece of 3/4” bar stock with a few holes and strategic bends

I promise I’ll get back to the car soon….I booked a surprise trip to Plum Island MA for my Wife’s bday. This was in exchange for my gt500 driving experience.

5AM sunrise off the East coat

View off our hotel room. Probably one of the nicest rooms I’ve ever booked. There was a hot tub off to the right as well.

I promise I’m googling AC compressor rebuild information. I swear!

Back home. Our weather went from 97 degrees for three days to 55-59 degrees and rain. I threw a fire in the fireplace tonight and made s’mores with the kids. Fortunately we made it home from our trip before the weather cooled off.

anyway, I dig into the ac compressor. Had to stop to order tools, but from what I saw the inside is clean so I’m happy.

check my thread in the tech forum and hit “watch” to get update on it. This is now my next project id like to get done ASAP

Interested in the compressor rebuild, for when the inevitable time comes that I want AC back in my car!

Good thing I decided to open this compressor up and reseal it. Some nasty rust residue but in a non critical area. This will clean up nicely. Rest of compressor looks nice but good thing I didn’t send it with this junk in there

Btw here’s the reseal thread. Work in progress. I’ll unlock for comments when done

Engine - Nippon-Denso 6P148A A/C Compressor Reseal

I plan on rebuilding a factory NipponDenso 6P148A Compressor. This thread will show details of that progress. It will be completed in stages, so I recommend clicking the watch button at the top right to get future updates as this won't be done all at once. Initial thread will be a bit all...
