I have a decent 60g reef tank .. if you think cars are expensive then you don't want a reef tank. The two hobbies fight for attention, however when I have people over they are usually glued to the reef tank.

Oh i know. I've been into aquariums for some time. I built a 20G sumped reef tank prior to buying our current house, but never set it up due to having to remodel a couple rooms. That's done now. The kids just want a pair of clownfish and some corals, so I just need to set it up with live rock and should be good to go.

I want to set up a 120/125G reef tank but wife and I decided we will be seeking a new home within 5 years, so it will wait until then. That's kinda why I want to wrap up the fox and get it to a "maintenance state" where I'm not putting much money into it anymore. I want to play around with some of my other interests now.

Here’s my solution for the left hand threaded low pressure port on the hydroboost.

Going to turn down the fitting and slide on this 6AN bung and weld.

So just to update. Had a minor surgical procedure earlier this week. Nothing was really wrong with me, but as a side effect of the procedure, I can no longer have any more kids. My wife is doing cartwheels.
Just so you know, there may still be a few live rounds left on the ammo belt before you get to the blanks.

Working on the power steering hoses today. It’s a bit slow when you test fit lines and then order what you need to proceed. Still waiting on some misc fittings/parts

two high pressure lines routed

One line connected, waiting on the other fitting to show up.

Low pressure side next.

I used a 150* hose end here, but to be honest I think a 180* might work better. I’ll order one up.

the other hose is awaiting a 45* ptfe hose end, due in end of this week

Next up is to figure out how to mount this near the ac compressor.

However once I figure it out, I’ll likely either buy a brand new one, or get something like this

I’m looking around to more universal type tanks. I just need two outputs. 1/2” ID and 1/4” ID

And after waiting two weeks for the last fitting I need for the high pressure side, I FUBAR it up. Argh.

just ordered another and back ordered to OCTOBER!

I’m using the vibrant performance hoses and fittings. I’m going to try another brand ptfe fitting and see if it works on this hose.

Well, determined to not be fooled by this, I spent a good hour cleaning up that thread and redoing the connection as best I could. Gave it one last try and the thread caught and started easily by hand. Sent it home, leak tested it and it seems to be good.

connections at the rack are done.

now to do the low pressure side.

I dunno if I mentioned this, but in hindsight I would not do hydroboost again unless absolutely necessary.

Chucked it up on the Lathe TIG welder during lunch break. It’s welded and solid

That’s all very nice looking though. Where are you sourcing you hose ends.. because wherever it is, it ain’t Summit.
The level of detail to the engine is pretty close to show car…Does this mean you’re never gonna drive it? And when all that detail gets grimied up by the engine and road, are you gonna want spend the time keeping it like it looks today?

Hell,…I don’t even wanna polish the freakin wheels.

Ive got an idea.

this bolt here on the AC compressor is in a good spot. Modeled and 3D printed a bracket to test out. Some tweaks to make.

I did purchase a premade power steering reservoir. Details on that when it arrives. Unfortunately it’s suffering COVID delays like everything else.

I decided to not use the factory power steering bottle as it was ugly and didnt really fit with my engine. This company also makes a matching coolant overflow bottle so o may pick one up as well. It looks nice.

I have fittings in hand but can’t plumb until I know where the bottle is.

hurry up and wait

New power steering reservoir setup should be here tue. Should be able to wrap this up shortly.

Purchased a belt. Looks like an 84.5” belt works for smog pump delete, A/C, power steering. factory pullies with the motorcraft GP-712 pulley

This post is more for my future reference when I need a new belt and can’t read the numbers on this.
