Doors are set first, then fenders then hood. There's a handheld jig used to set this initial gap. Then when the car is trimmed out, the final fit (adjusting door strikers, hood bumpers, etc) is literally the last thing done to the car. Did body fits for a few years on the line and you are definitely humping.

 no, what makes one year better than the other?
I guess I could've worded the question better, I'm not really a dumbazz, I just play one here on :SN:

Dunno. All I know is the few 92s and 93s I’ve closed the hatch on have had a much more solid feel to the closing mechanism.

However….these latches are going for stupid money on eBay. $200+

Looks like I’ll need to keep my eye out. I already have the specific striker needed for this one (no bushing)

Messing with the front bumper. I have one stud to repair.

That top pass side stud came out of the header and needed to be cut. I have an idea on what to replace it with. Seems like there is access to the front

From the front, I think I can drill it through and run a stud through and put a nut on one side and nut on the other. Should do the trick

Fixed the busted out header stud. Pretty easy to do.

2” long double ended stud. 1/4-20. Stainless.

Drilled out the busted area with 1/4”
Bit. This sticks in nicely

Double nutted the other side, and bottomed out a nylon locking 1/4” nut

And finished product. Downside is you need to leave the parking light out because you will need to hold the nut from the other side. All 6 can be done this way, if needed. I only had to fix one.
