Next up, realign the hatch and wire up the new latch.

After that, I wasn’t to tackle this. My car is an ‘88 but I’ve had the 90+ panels in it for years, but haven’t had rear seatbelts.

I really want to install the rear 3-point belts so I got my hands on these. I’d like to weld them in and run the rear seatbelts they way they should be in the 90+ cars

Finally, I should prob go ahead and pull the carpet and weld the SFCs in while I’m here. Then all my welding is done and I can put the interior back together 100%

I also need to install the manual trans shifter hunp, to finally complete my 5-spd install properly

So needless to say interior will be out for some time.

Got this idea from someone else, but going to have my kids sign the back of one of these

Ok got a bunch done.

Both new quarter windows installed. Fit is great. I am happy as a clam. Just need a few more nuts. They are M4x 0.7. I’ll get the car outside and take some decent pics of those

Adjusted my hatch. New latch installed. I will sort the wiring out later. Waiting on a harness in the mail. Mechanically, my hatch has never latched so easily and been tighter.

Was feeling good, so I did this

Front bumper loosely installed. Will work on my final adjustments tomorrow and get it all tightened down

More disassembly.

Realized I didn’t have the right size Rivet gun for the supplied rivets. The gun I do have had puny rivets. Gonna see if harbor frieght has the right size unit.

Not a fan of the inner shift seal LMR supplies. Compared to the oe unit it’s flimsy. Either way, it looks like it should do the job.

If that’s the big rivet gun like used for the door lock actuators that you need, Harbor Freight sells it at half the price of the specialty Mustang sites. Same exact tool.

Snagged the Amazon one. Same day delivery so saves me the trip and should have it tonight.

Today I gotta do an inspection sticker and oil change on my wife’s car, and then do F&R brakes on both her car and my moms car. Needless to say I’ll be busy.

However wife and kids are in Sarasota FL until Tue. I have so much free time I don’t know what to do?

Ok. Busy day.

Changed all 4 brakes on my parents car, all 4 brakes on my wife’s car, changed her oil and got the car inspected. All that was done by 3pm so I figured I’d work on the mustang despite being exhausted.

Decided to Weld in those seat belt braces. There’s a guy on eBay who has been selling these cut out of cars already for a while. Got mine 3-4 years ago but he still lists them.

Some trimming of the 87-89 style insulation pad. Yes, I’m keeping it.

Of course, this damn bolt won’t budge. Used impacts, breaker bars, just keep snapping bits. Need to use some heat from the underside
