Looking really good man. I was under the impression the engine bay/strut towers were under tons of torsion and flexing during normal driving. I don't know how these bays hold up so well to driving. How does that bondo and paint not chip and crack and flake right off the first time you take the car for a drive???

i dont think there is?or atleast not enough in the wrong spots to matter. i did the same on my coupe and launching with 10" slicks at 5800 never once cracked out and thats pulling 1.6 60' and a slight wheelie! the ONLY time i noticed it crack is when we reinstalled johns motor when we traded and thats because the motor hit a spot with bondo. That spot was 100% bondo unlike this time around i welded every single hole then covered with bondo for a smoother look! love child and everyone else thanks for the compliments! I might be doing another buddies bay this winter also? I'm hoping to put in a full day tomorrow (9AM-5PM) and HOPEFULLY have some color on it tomorrow,if not tomorrow then wednesday!................That is if i decide to change or get creative with something else? I have 1 more panel to make and i will hopefully get it made tomorrow and will post it up as usual. peace

put in another 5 hours and this is what i came up with?
beginning of today:

and now after the 1st coat of color:

i will go out tonight or tomorrow AM and do a few more coats, then i will tape it all off and wash and spray the k member and booster as well as the cover i have made for the area behind the driver strut tower. i made a plate to bolt in so i could still access the ECM test port if needed so i dont have to worry about how to get to it if i would have welded it in also.
and my battery relocate box just need to run the power to the alt:

peace

What about behind all the panels you welded in you goin to somehow spray something in there? I have always wondered how people make sure it wont rust when they do that. It looks damn good though.

No worries there. i dont drive it in the rain, and it's been here in this state ever since it was built and has 0 rust! If a car here has rust it's not from here!Unlike back east. Thats what i hated about living in ohio cars were rust buckets from all the salt in the winters! Thanks for the compliments! peace
