One layer down and 5 more to go,this one has to set up first ,the scoops were easier to get into than i thought they would be .

Does that get more support across the middle? or is 6 layers enough for not to sag?

How many of these "Molds" you got lying around?
I saw the fast back interior stuff.
and you were talking other hoods and stuff

The box is glassed to the hood mold, i have to finish the box ,flip the whole thing over ,and it weighs about 180 lbs. ,then trim the mold and pop the hood out

Cut holes for clamping ,flipped it over and somewhat trimmed the flange . The hood just about fell out ! Came out perfect except for a couple of chips at the end of the scoops i will have to fix but i am very happy ! And the ram air chamber made it in today !
And the steel hood has not one speck of damage !

Repairing the chips around the scoops this morning ,they couldnt chip at the top where it would be no problem ,oh well ,it isnt much to fix at least . The mold release peeled out of the mold in a sheet leaving a nice shinny grey surface ,i will still block sand with 1000 ,up to 2000 them buff the surface

Other than a lot of block sanding this came out pretty easy ,except for a couple of dings and a couple of pits . I will sand them out today and get the final primer on it ,tomorrow a whole bunch of wet sanding and i am ready to make the under brace mold

Do you mold the hoods as two halves and bond them together afterward, or do you somehow do it as a complete unit?
