Im doing a very low budget buildup of my 1991 ranger ive had for 6 years. the 3.0 V6 is toast... i have a 5.0 1999 explorer engine withabout 82K miles. pretty complete... GT-40P heads... im going to run the intake and T/B.. but i want to do a little more aggressive cam.. I was thinking TFS stage 1, or possibly a "E" cam.. i dont want to go crazy or anything

Any reccommendations?

I had good luck with an "E" cam in a 1994 cobra motor, which is similar to your explorer motor. I had 1.7 roller rockers, and the cam had a nice sounding idle (definitely didnt sound stock!) and made good power up to 6k or so.

I haven't kept up on cams, there may be better choices out there, but I don't think you would be unhappy with the E.

Congrats on being back from Iraq! :flag:

the E cam is a good cam and has been proved throughout time. The TFS-1 is a good cam also, You could also look at the comp xtreme energy line it just depends on what your goals, if it is speed density, Tranny, Gears ect these all play a big role in cam selection. Let us know, also you could call buddy rawls, jay allen or ed curtis and have them make you a cam specifically for you..just a thought.
