He mentioned it was an automatic. :)

I agree on the flush/fill. :nice:
A cooler never hurts.
Oppppsssssssss missed it.
but see I covered both bases.
But I think he prolly has eibach sportlines. Can't he use the foxbody length struts on there? I remember someone saying they were shorter and work with a lowered car.
If you are handy with tools a tranny cooler shouldn't be too hard or expensive a mod to do.

I just called to get a price on a flush & fill for the tranny and it was $99. I will get this done asap.

I'm suprised that this car does not have a tranny cooler? I thought this was standard on all automatics.
I would opt for a transmission flush and filter changevice just a pan drop and filter change. The flush will pull all of the contaminents out of the converter too(unless the shop will drain the converter drain plug as well) where a pan drop will not. If it they are doing a pan drop demand they drain the converter too!

However, w/ 121k on it, I hope the previous owner serviced the trans regularly. If not there is a chance that the trans might experience issue after the fluid change.

The transmission fluid is cooled by the radiator via cooling lines that run from the trans to the radiator and back through the trans. That is how I have done trans flushed in the past on cars.

Haste makes waste. Read up on the J-mod first before getting a chip to firm up the shifts. J-mod is cheap and will pretty much compensate for a gear change. If you change gears you will need to get a speedcal or something similar to fix the speedometer and odometer. You could use a twenty three tooth gear but that will not work 100%.

One other thing I forgot to mention. The speedometer is off by about 15mph!
I was driving 65 in my truck and the wife was following me in the mustang she was going 80.
Tire size? Did the 96's come with 16" or 17"? According to tire.com (discount tire) the size tire now is very similair in diameter to the stock 16" tire. 225/55/16. Now 215/60/16.
I wonder if a gear change was done on this car? How could I find out?
