Newbie to 94,95's been into modulars, have questions

I've been a modular guy since I've been on here. You can tell by my post count I'm not a newbie newbie. Just don't know squat about the 94/95's.

This car would be a weekend warrior/drag car. I have a 03 mustang gt i used to drag race but stopped and didn't really want to mess my car up again. I've had a broken tranny and a broek rear. By the time my car reached 8,000 miles. 130 passes at the strip and countless street races.

Heres my questions

Is there any point to buying a cobra if the engine will be completly redone except maybe the shortblock?
Stock shortblock- how much can it take?
Forged shortblock - how much?
Cam price?
Aftermarket Heads?
Full Intake Mods?

Whats the all motor potential?

Difference between the cobra and gt is heads cam and intake... So a gt will work just fine...

Stock shortblock will hold mid 400's fairly safe... Actually there is one guy pushing 600 rwhp with his turbo setup.. Just a matter of time im sure.

Again if you use a stock block and forged internals, it can stand up to 500... but again its a matter of time.

Cam's range from 180-320
aluminum heads are 1000 up
intake 350+
MAF 150+
TB 180
CAI 45+ unless you make your own.. 15-20 bucks

All motor potential depends on a lot of things... 302 or 351? stroked?
If you push enough rpms you can get 350+ rwhp out of a 302..

yeah whats stated about is about what your looking at...id say the LIMIT for the stock block is 550RWHP with a REAL solid tune....like stated there are others running more, but i dont think the car has been to the tradk since the dyno so we will see how it holds up....the best way to go (if you wanna stay 302 based) is to go with an FRPP R302 block, or a Dart 302 block...either will hold just about any power you can throw at it if the tune is good...the stock rotating assembly, while we didnt get foged pistons like some of the Fox cars will tollerate those power levels with a good tune....if your looking to build a pretty wild car, a step up to a 351W block may be your ticket they are not overly expensive and fit nicely in our cars and will make insabe torque....and welcome to the BEST of the Stangnet forums!
