Just failed inspection for tampering with emissions. Passed the actual emissions with flying colors, but I have a Pypes x pipe. Pypes is working with me on this They tell me I have no cats when I get HC - 72, CO - .03, NOX - 342. However, they are also working with me. To any other NJ resident, how did you get through emissions?

Go to a private station. (Gas station) Stay away from the state inspection centers.

I just swap my stock h-pipe in every 2 years for emissions and drive around the rest of the time with my o/r h-pipe. I've had no problems passing for he last 2 inspections...its amazing how restrictive yet effective the stock pipe is! My buddy had a 347 in his '90 hatch with no smog equipment at all and all he did was swap his stock h-pipe on for emissions and passes with flying colors at a state inspection station. After you swap pipes a few times, it becomes 2nd nature and takes less than an hour to take one off and put the other one on.

I got rid of my stock H. I only went to DMV for inspection because I wanted to look into the eye of the beast. My inspection is not even due until may.

It looks as if my x pipe is c.a.r.b. certified, so I should be able to win this one.
