Just got my X2C smoked tail lights in. They are much darker than I expected. Here are some pics, let me know if you think I should keep them or go back to stock.

I think they might bring too much fuzz.

they look good! they might be too dark and the cops might pull you over if no one can see your brake lights come on. be careful

get some smoked front headlights to finish off the look too!

They look good, go well with the black silver thing you got going on. You should get the front ones smoked also. But then again, that may defeat the purpose of the HID's.

I think you got to much black going on. I like the stock lights better. With my cars I like clear lights up front and all red in the rear. Its up to you though.

They look good Ben!! Mostly I would worry about a soccer mom not seeing your brakelights and rear ending you(seems like they are very dark with brakes on). As far as the cops if you get pulled over just take them for a ride in your rocket and they will forget why they pulled you over.

Take a look at the 'brakes on' picture. If that was how they looked when they were OFF, I think I'd be a bigger fan of the smoked taillights.

Don't get me wrong, the tail lights are cool but I personally love the silver / red combination (from the stock tail lights) on my vehicle although it's only a GT. They just stand well together in my opinion, as do red brake calipers...etc.

Overall I think the black tail lights give it an extremely aggressive look. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I were some random riced out Honda pulling up next to you at a light. It's just a scary looking car.

I do though, absolutely love the smoked tail lights on black Cobras. Holy crap that's sexy. All I can say is I'm undecided what I really think about the black on silver, but I know I'll most likely be getting those 10.5'' black bullitts now I've seen them on a silver car ... NOW THAT'S HOT.

They look like quality pieces (and I think they look ok on there), but too dark IMO. People will not see your brakelights and you will get hit -- especially with the way those cars are capable of braking very quickly.

Gonna have to go against the grain here. I think the contrast is too much. Tint on a dark car compliments and blends the look of a car, like Duner's for example. With the silver, I just think its too much of a contrast, too flashy... So the tailights are even more of a contrast. Sorry Ben, but you asked for honest opinions. Eh, but what do I know? Look at what I did to mine....

I don't like them either, they basically just look like taillight blackouts, which were cool in 1991, but now....

Also, they do dim the brake lights significantly.

But then again, it's your car.

I totally agree! I would be very concerned with getting stopped by the cops all the time and all the comments about not being able to see your brake lights.

O h ya light smoke is the way to go,looks good.I like the dark but its a open invitation for the police to pull you over and I'd be worried about liability reasons.Someone might rear end you and it could be your fault. I really like the white tips on the tail pipes

Unfortunately, you're asking for trouble with the POE-lees. I've seen those lights and they're really dim in the daylight.

I must agree with Jordan on this one, I think that dark a tint highlights the taillights too much and takes away from the "clean and mean" look you already had going with the big meats in back.

If you would like, a more thorough analysis could be made available. But, of course, I'd have to take it for a test drive (alone...) to get the full experience before making any final judgements.

Ben, I think they look pretty good. Kinda hard to tell how bright the lights really are in the pictures.

If you decide to change back let me know. They would look freakin' awesome on my car.
