I have no idea what the capacity of the two stock injectors on my 84 CFI contolled (86) engine is? Only that there is 39psi available off the regulator.
I know they have plenty of capacity to power the 178RWHP (calculated) 86 stock engine (AOD) with the two inline stock fuel pumps and original 84 CFI system.
BUT I see for $62 each I can get MSD performance injectors (only 3 mo. warrantee) from Autozone that put out 26LB/Hr each. The OEM Sorensen ones cost $39each with a year's warrantee but no capacity is listed and I don't see it in the manual.
Not knowing what stock flow is doesn't help determine if there is any advantage to all this.
Also not finding any info on "search" for the CFI system I don't know if there would be any performance advantage to bigger capacity injectors if the stock computer will control the flow anyhow?? I assume the O2 sensor is going to limit the amount of fuel going thru the motor anyhow??
I don't need new injectors but I'm always game for a cheapo non invasive power boost for the stock droptop throttlebody that runs perfectly.
