Progress Thread Progress Thread- From6to8's 1994 Cobra Supercharger install

Vs a Twin Screw or TVS that just feels like a Big Block off idle.
brag about it why dontchya.

Cost is what drove me to the centrifugal. I was seriously contemplating the Kenne Belle for mine, but overall it was like $2k (give or take) more than what i paid for my Paxton. If i recall, i ordered mine from Summit on Christmas eve or day... was probably a little tipsy and saw Summit had it on sale for less than the Vortech V3 and you get the 8-rib setup with the Paxton (not that it probably matters with the low boost kit), and pulled the trigger on a whim.

Yyyyyep.

And there I was, a young GI with a family, explaining to my wife why I wanted [this] supercharger and not [that] supercharger even though the magazine page shows the more HPs for [that] one and it's "cheaper". :suicide:

It all worked out though. Soon as I start talking cars, her eyes glaze over and she goes away. :D

Right.

And I keep forgetting you have a 94/95 and not a Fox.
yessirr. Which do you have?

I also don't necessarily like the look of the kenne bell and the turbo is ok as far as looks but for me and I know a lot of folks don't worry about looks. But for me appeal is what is part of it for me too :D

yeah not sure how i feel about full power at 2k though it sounds fun lol. For how I drive my cars it might get a little aggrivating to not want or have to have full power at 2k all the time. I'd have to baby or try to baby even at 2k lol.

maybe i need to watch some vids of guys taking off hehee heeee

I have a 2.2L Kenne Bell Flowzilla/Blowzilla

The only kit currently available for an 8.2 Windsor is just like mine with a 2.1L Flowzilla/Blowzilla.

I don't think i've ever seen a photo of @Noobz347 car
the photo in my avatar is my 95 that was a 6 and I put an 8 in 2002 when I blew a head gasket. Car got hit in '15 and took it apart in 19 after I found it's twin in '16. Bought the 94 Cobra in 17 and decided to let that car live on in the Cobra. I probably should have done the twin first and put the engine in it then for the Cobra I would have done a new fresh engine for it.

Now the 95 is in the process of a 331 build but I might end up doing a blower for it as well more than likely right off the bat.....

Well.... It's been a while but the car and I are back in the same state, at least. lol

Many stories, multiple cars, stored for years... etc.

Don't mind the mess :jester:
(I think I'm supposed to say but don't really care)

A bunch of "stuff" that I'm putting together into one spot to go through.
Collected from all the different "stashes" (something the General and I, have in common).

These are the calipers that will be barely peeking out from behind the new LMR 17" 10-Holes:

Re-polished, of course. :D

thanks for the pics and nice. I definitely want a Fox one day and see a bunch of nice 4 eyes so if the price is right for one I might get but want a 90-93 more than likely :D

^I don't have any experience with the 94-95.

Looking at you pic i see how different they are. It's just got to go somewhere in that tube. Doesn't really matter too much where. I'd keep it as far away from the MAF as possible as a rule of thumb. Just not to disrupt its readings. But that's just a suggestion.

I've had mine three ways now.

First was with the entry kit. The elbow that it ships with actually has a bung you can use. I have no idea why it's not utilized. It just needs to be drilled out and a nipple threaded in.

I dont have picture of that. But I do have the elbow from the upgraded discharge pipe with bypass. The large bung on the bottom is for the bypass. The smaller one on top is threaded but sealed off. All you gotta do is drill ot out and put in a threaded hose barb there for your PCV inlet. The entry level kit was almost exactly the same except it didn't have the bypass bung.

Then the UPR. Its plastic and not great to thread into. I epoxyied several layers of thin plastic. Like a plywood construction of plastic/epoxy/plastic/epoxy and let dry to build up the thickness. Then I drilled it out and tapped it with a NPT tap.

The little silver canister is an oil seperator.

While I feel it would hold up, I really didn't like the "makeshift" bung. So i went with the Anderson Powerpipe I posted earlier and welded a bung in for the PCV let.

Then powdercoated it.

What I plan on doing is I might get the UPR and I'll put the IAT there on the entrie's plastic that goes betwen the discharge and tb. Did the meter attached to the UPR decent and what size meter did you have?

I'll just run a breather on the VC and plug that nipple. Talked to a guy earlier who says he has 3 boosted cars with , well let me paste:

I am running the stock pcv valve system on 3 different vortech boosted cars with a breather on the valve cover and no problems on any of them. No catch cans no check valves no special valve cover fittings. All stock location pcv valves in backs of lower intakes and all stock type pcv valve tubing geometry on bottom side of upper intakes.

I'll go out and snap a couple. Might be easier than me digging through old images.

I am also gearing up to put it back under the knife. 5-lug, brakes, suspension, etc...
do you have a elec fp gauge inside and how many normal street only guys you think run one inside if they have a fp gauge under the hood? NOw I know you won't be able to see the gauge under the hood while driving and then again under boost you won't be looking at the guage either lol.

So just trying to guage rather I need to put one inside or should, I guess overall wouldn't be a bad idea for safety of engine if something happens.

If I do I gotta research where to tap into as I'm running the stock rails and have a billet fp regulator on already.

I don't know what [everybody] does but for a boosted app, I like having the FP where I can see it.

If fuel goes lean... BOOM

ok.

Are you referring to mostly in boost? What should the fp be in boost?

And would the A/F wideband gauge not suffice for that?
