R302/ Dart block oil press. sending unit??

We're trying to button up my buddies new engine, and it appears the hole for the oil pressure sending unit is twice the size of the regular 302 blocks. Is there a special piece he needs to pick up or order?
If anyone has an answer, that's be great!

EDIT: he says there's a hole on the passenger's side of the block that looks like it would fit, but the one that's too big is the standard location on the drivers' side.
In case you couldn't tell, neither of us really have a clue...

Is it a R302 or a DART Sportsman or DART Iron Eagle?

it's an R302, but I was told it's the same '''''''casting" as a Dart block, but it is technically an R302.

any luck on this?

I am currently building my Dart Iron Eagle and am having a tough time figuring out what i need for the sending unit... Especially since i need the oil fitting for a charger? Any one got any tips for this?

On my Dart 351 I pluged the oil sending unit hole by the filter off with i "believe" a -10an plug and used the port on the rear passanger side of the block near the rear of the intake. There is two threaded plugs there and I just used one for the autometer oil pressure guage. If I were you I would use the back port for the guage, then I would by a -an reducer for the traditional sending unit spot for the blower and run s/s line.

I don't think you are following us... We are talking about(well i am anyway) the Supercharger oil feed, not the drain... You are correct though the drain does go into the pan while the feed Tees off of the fitting for the sending unit.

And Ponyboy, I didn't even see the opening on the back of the block... Glad you mentioned it, or i would have been spewing oil everywhere...

Sorry about that, I was thinking RETURN not feed.
I like to use the standard stock port for the gauge and feed due to the relationship to the pump and filter. You'll also know right away when you lose pressure.

As a side note....I'm working on a World Man-O-War block for a customer right now, and if memory serves me they put oil bosses on both sides (the block is currently at the machine shop or I would double check). That could be nice to use as a feed line depending on what front accessories are being used.

Rick could you please let me know about how much the machining costed on that Man O War block...I would like to go either r302, Dart, or Man O war and I was just wondering. THanks

No more then a DART, although you need a few extra things with the Man-O-War
