Rear springs

I replaced the rear springs on my 67 couplast weekend. I used standard eye, 5 leafs from CJ Pony parts. I used new shackles with polly bushings. My question/concern is this. I replaced the springs because the stock ones were sagging quite a bit, I wanted the back end up. After I replaced the springs, the back is down even farther! I checked the springs, they ARE standard eye. I measured the shackles, same length as stock ones. Am I missing something, or are the new springs shot too? There is nothing in the trunk or car to weigh it down. Thanks.

That's not good.

Do you have a pic of how your car was sitting before and after?

If you don't have a way to post pictures, you could measure to the highest point of your wheel opening (also tell us what tires you have). Maybe someone here with a '67 and fresh suspension can tell you whether the rear is sitting at stock ride height.

Maybe the front is too high, and that makes the rear look low? :)

That's a great idea, I'll measure it tonight. I cut one full coil off the front springs (now it's a little too low, oops), but the car just now sits evenly. I would think that with that much lower in the front it would not be level. I'm leaning toward bad springs now. Unless someone makes taller shackles, I am going to call CJPony and ask about returning the spings.
