I recently installed an s trim and now think I may need a rebuild on the bottom end. Its a stock bottomend with thumper e7s and tmoss stock upper. I did away with the pcv system since it kept popping out and for now just have the nipple on the oil fill neck open to vent. At idle it looks like tea kettle with the pressure blowing out. Is it time for a rebuild or is there something I can do about this?

It's a normal phenomenon to have some pressure coming out, which is the reason for the PCV system, or breather elements (which would also prevent foreign objects from entering the engine), but I bet the supercharger increases the amount of pressure. If you're really concerned, you could always do compression and leakdown tests, but IMO if you're not burning any oil, I'd say it's a safe bet the bottom end is in decent shape.

my breather on my VC looks like a tea kettle too:D

it only does it when the motor is fully warmed up because of the pressure.

as for the pcv popping out:notnice: that must mean that the crank case is getting pressurized. this happened to me, along with the dipstick popping out, before i realized that i needed to cap off the TB and put a breather on.

i tune my car via tweecer and binary editor and eec analyzer. the tweecer is the hardware that also comes with software like the binary editor and eec analyzer, but i have found that binary editor and eec analyzer are MUCH better than caledit (come with the tweecer).

Clint is the creator of BE and EA. google eecanalyzer and is web will come up.

tweecer is VERY involved and can make your head spin with all the new concepts but i dont know how i would live with out it. you can do EVERYTHING you can imagine to your car that involves electrical function.... even change the firing order without popping the hood! (im not saying that will run right tho:shrug:)

yeah I have the tweecer also. You arent kidding about it being difficult. I cant get it figured out to save my life. I dont know why. I was asking cause I called a few very reputable shops know pretty well in the racing industry to have my car tuned and they all say that I should ditch the tweecer or chip idea and just run the btm and get a 4:1 fmu. They said thats how they would do it if I brought it to them.

i ran a custom sniper chip. the chip , tune, and dyno runs was 400 bucks. No fmu or btm. If i was to do it again, id prolly run a btm instaed of a tune. Thats all the tune really did was retard timing. It did nothing for the fuel, you would need of course 42 pound injectors and a 255 in tank

CONCRETEWARFARE,

I can walk you though how to tune that car of yours. i have a solid understanding of how to tune NA and supercharged cars.

if you want/need help PM me and ill give you my email and if i cant email you though the whole tuning experience then i may be able to talk you though it.

what are you having problems with? IF your car is properly running ie no vacuum leaks etc then tuning can be easy.

BTW if that tuner wanted to use an FMU to tune your car, i would NEVER go back, buy anything from him or ask him any advice about tuning. he seems like he would take short cuts big time. F that guy.

i ditched my FMU and without making any changes AND adding 42lbs injectors my car idled better and ran faster than the 24s with a FMU. if you tune with an FMU you will mess something else up.... guaranteed.

if you are running 42s then I am sure they changed the injector slopes when they burned your chip, so the tune can and does control the fuel
