With all the mods I have coming, a friend of mine decided to give me a cam he's had but never installed in his 92GT. I was wondering what I needed to make the cam work good (it'll fit, right?). I'm not saying work at its best cause for that I would need heads, which I don't have money for. I think I need rockers but not really sure. The mods that are coming soon are cobra u/l intake, 70mm TB, l/t, prochamber, xr1s, al. pulleys, cai, 4.10s, 6al, and ignition kit.

Keep in mind that with the E-cam you may have some idle quality and some other drivability issues that may need a chip to correct.....other than that it's a decent cam.

The E cam was the hot cam to get back in the early 90's. There's much better to choose from now. I wouldn't do a cam on the stock heads just because there's quite a bit of work involved and you won't see much benifit on the stock heads.

i was thinking, since i'm gonna be replacing the intake, would it be too hard to install the cam myself? i've never done it before but have seen some installations of it. i mean, i would have to disassemble a lot but could a moron like me do it? this would be so I could save some money since i'm gonna have to get the chip also.

that's all i needed to know snoozer, thanx, finally some concrete data,(i mean, you do know this for a fact right?) don't mean to offend anybody but that's what i was looking for, good or bad

ps: i noticed on your sig that your car is cammed, which one did you get?

ok so I called jegs and the technician said that the cam would help me out. he said that the cam is bigger than stock but not too big to where I can't use it with stock heads. he said that the cam can be used with my stock converter since I'm switching to 4.10 gears. do you all have anything to add?

IMO it should help. A buddy of mine has 4.10's and a shift kit in his stang plus he put an X-303 cam in his and he said he could feel a ton of difference on top end. I know the X-303 is alot bigger, but as far as performance goes, I whoop him off of the start, and he starts to reel me in in the last part of the 1/4 mile. 2800 stall would kick some ass for that cam!
