Where I come from, THIS is called a "rim" by people who call these rims:

Anything normal, on a normal car, driven by a normal person, is a wheel. The tire wrapped around the wheel? Well, we call that a tire.

Reef's progress thread is not the place for this discussion, though. Carry on!

because ASE is by the book correct way for doing things in our automotive world..so TECHNICALLY a wheel is a tire and rim together.

Nothing wrong with Cobra R's, they just didn't look right on my car. The progress has been slow, but steady. I really want to be driving the car in April. I still need to get rear disc stuff and trac lok rebuild before True Street in October.

A friend who does porting worked on my lower. He opened it up for Felpro 1250's and did some smoothing out. Now I should be lowering the engine into the car next week.

These cool alignment pins that came with my oil pan gasket look like they'll work great on intake gaskets.

And I bought a new DD!

Thanks! I'm pleased with the way everything looks; other than the intake, the bay looks stock.

why did you take off the front end? I mean that's a pretty extreme set of fender covers.

I knew I'd be doing a lot of work on the front and I didn't want to risk messing up any paint. Also so I could unbolt and remove the doors for new pins, bushing, rollers, and tension plates. I still need to clean up the outside of the aprons with some POR15 and paint.

BTW, anyone know where this end for the battery negative wire originally went? I'm thinking to the block, but I can't remember.

I'm 99% certain it attached to the block somewhere behind the P/S pump

just looked at mine. right behind the lower radiator hose where it attaches to the water pump, a finger length away on the engine there is a bolt for it. it goes into the side of the engine with the head of the bolt pointing to the drivers fender. picture taken leaning over drivers fender.
