Roush Roush P51 Edition

I know its not a saleen, but I love what Jack did with this idea:
If I were to buy on 05 or newer mustang, I would take that in a heartbeat in comparasion with ANY 05+ Saleen. :flag: :flag: :flag:

.....with that being said, it would be more unique if he would have done this edition similar to the PJ car. By that I mean change the wheels, treak the bodykit some and add addition options to the vehicle. It doesn't stand out as much as the PJ car simply because it looks just like the rest of the cars but with added exterior badges. He should have done something similar to the slight difference between his stage 1 and 2 different then his stage 3 or 427R model. But overall, being a patriotic person and love watching WWII movies and documentaries, I love the idea behind it all!!

I dunno, rims are too small, hate those vents over the rear windows, hood scoup is overdone, don't like the single racing stripe.
And for god sake the 510hp decal does not need to be that big, a roush makes a statement as it is.

I personally like the new Saleen RF edition better.

Surprised to see ROUSH love ... here ... of all places. :rlaugh:

I like what Jack has done with the car, but, more importantly it's a testament to power having it's privilege and blending one passion with another.
Historically correct tribute car. :nice: Cool deal.

Also it's cool way to get a requested product out .....
The ROUSH P-51A is easily the highest horsepower Mustang that the company has ever produced, and represents the first time that internal engine components have been upgraded by ROUSH technicians in their Livonia, Mich., facility. It was determined that the only way to give the P-51A moniker its due was to completely break into the 4.6L, 3V and rebuild several of the functional internal components, which include a forged steel eight-bolt crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons with increased dish to lower the compression from 9:8 to 8:6, and forged steel H-Beam connecting rods. These upgraded parts were necessary for the stock Ford engine (which comes with 300 horsepower from the factory) to be able to withstand the additional power generated from the newest iteration of the legendary ROUSHchargerTM supercharger system.

Additional alterations include a custom aluminum upper and lower intake manifold for the high capacity air-to-water intercooler and ROUSHchargerTM. ROUSH installs a custom fuel rail and high-flow fuel injectors, a high-flow capacity fuel system, as well as a dual electronic throttle body.

While I certainly respect & admire the accomplishments of Jack Roush throughout his racing career beginning with the old Gapp & Roush Pro Stock cars in the 70's, I just have not been that impressed with his street Mustangs.

Admittedly part of my ambivalence is due to my being a Saleen enthusiast & owner for over 20 years so I consider Roush to merely be yet another person capitalizing on the late model Mustang market that Steve Saleen originated.

Though the Roush Mustangs have certainly incorporated performance & handling upgrades that make them formidable vehicles, I've never cared for their styling packages. Saleen has always been able to design their body kits in a way that improves upon the Mustang's exterior appearance without overwhelming it. Unfortunately, Roush's kits look tacked on & just don't have the same integration with the basic body lines as does the Saleen version.

But that's just my HO.

Everything he doesn't like about it, I do. :)
