I was told SN95 brakes or any 5 lug needs 87-93 struts, is that right? What heads/cam/intake do you recommend and how much horse power will it net?
I fail to understand why Explorer 5-lug wheels, 5 X 4-1/2, and other related parts, are not compatible with Fox Mustang. Explain, please? imp
Who! If I have a 5 x 4-1/2 bolt pattern on a Mustang, and place an Explorer wheel rim having that same pattern on the Mustang somewhere, what difference does it make that one or the other had/has leaf springs, or a non-center mounted pumpkin? So long as several things are true: Ex. center hole diameter compatible, adequate caliper clearance, appropriate wheel back-set. Am I missing some obvious fault here? impDifferent design of components. The rear has a center offset pumpkin, and they are using internal drum brakes as the parking brake. Leaf spring rear.
The only part you can take is the center diff, and ring gears. Some explorer models do come with a 31-spline limited slip.
Other than that, everything else is not compatible.

If anything, Coyote swap it, with boost!

I'm taking away an interwebz for even suggesting such a thing.![]()
I thought the question was wheels-related only. Sorry if I misinterpreted. As far as brakes, etc., go, issues of course get in the way, not the least of which is Explorer's 3rd. generation independent rear suspension. What are we discussing here? Just wheels? I thought we were talking about taking the 5-lug brakes off an explorer and putting them on a Mustang 8.8 axle?
Wow, even had the optional snow blower removed.....Here is a great example of what needs to come out of that car to make it a solid driver today:

Yes. Going to reupholster but keep traditional headrest and recaro foam.Do the back seats match the front? Those look like pace car recaro seats... I could be wrong though.
