Hey Jason,
How many miles are on that bottom end?
Your cam choice depends on if or what power adders you are planning.

I would go with either an E-303 or AN f-303 from FRPP if you are going to be using a blower

both will pass smog! I have an E-303 with my set up now. I run 8psi of boost and I have 176,00 on my bottom end

On the bottom end I would install a girdle to reinforce the bottom end. If you decide to go with a blower, I would have them intall forged rods, the pistons sound good but as far as the cam, you can install a LUNATI 51014, it has better duration and it is a dual pattern cam(compared to the FRPP E and F cams). The intake is .500" lift and exhaust at .510" lift. As far as intake and heads, IMO the Holley systemax is a great intake, especially if your going to put a blower and as far as the heads, the AFR 165, 185 are a good choice, the Trick Flow heads are also a good choice. Another good performance upgrade would be gears, 3.73 will give you nice performance..........and don't forget the tranny with all that power, the tranny will need some attention. Subframe connectors would be a + + to stiffen the car.

AFR 165s and a cam from Ed Curtis. Let him know you need to pass smog, and it'll be perfect. Lots of power, nice driving manners, and smog "compliance" www.flowtechinduction.com

With all the choices out there these days, it's hard to go wrong with any of the brand name head/intake/equip companies. The bigger question is whether you'll go blown down the road or not. I ran my rebuilt 306 for a year N/A, but always planned on a SC so did the following up front:

Used ARP head & main studs instead of bolts for added sealing

30# injectors vs 24#

ProM77 mass air meter vs a smaller C&L meter

Crower blower cam w/218(I)/226(E) dur., 510/510 lift and 114LSA. Blower combo's like a little more exhaust duration and LSA. Plus a wider LSA will help it pass smog. The Lunati #51014 has very similar specs, but with a little tighter (112) LSA. This is the cam that comes with the Holley Systemax II package of heads, cam, and intake at a good price ($2,000).

Your crank should be fine. Just get it checked and polished. I used ported Edelbrock 6037 heads, but AFR, Twisted Wedge,and Holley are probably better in terms of stock flow out of the box. I also used a ported Cobra intake, but only because the Edelbrock intakes were on national back order at the time. The Holley intake is probably better still. And, as Pierre pointed out, subframe connectors are a must with the added power. It's also a good time to upgrade the clutch/PP combo and rear end gears if you haven't done so already (3.55's or better).

I guess the main point is that if you plan ahead you won't have to buy the same part twice down the road. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.
