Now I have 3 T5s sitting in my garage. 1 is an 85 WC, the other a 90-93 WC, and another a V8 NWC trans. I got the NWC for 25 dollars. The main shaft is sheared in half, and third gear is naturally gone, taking with it the countergear. This trans is junk.

I have been planning on swapping one of these transmissions over to a D&D 2.95gearset for superb torque capacity. If I bought the gearset (which includes input, main gears, and countergears) and a master rebuild kit, would that work? Are the shift forks, 5th gear, reverse gear, etc the same between the NWC and WC stuff?

shift forks are all the same, with the new parts and rebuild kit you should be good to go! I just swapped a mainshaft from an 87 4cyl that i broke 3rd in to a 95 WC T5 with a bent mainshaft i got for free in parts, but now 2nd gear grinds so it will come out again this weekend

mustang78, the mainshafts are different, aren't they? ones made for roller bearings, the other is for bushings.

What do I do about the 5th gear stuff too? Those are the same?
