Hi Folks, I am a little excited and thought I would "Brag" a little bit. About a year and half ago I installed a Vortech SC-trim to my SSC, along with all the supporting hardware, injectors, maf, fuel pump, blah, blab, blah. You know the drill. Trying to keep the engine looking like a Saleen, I kept it in the family and also installed a Saleen/Vortech intake for better air flow. Other than that it is still all SSC from there down.
This past weekend we installed a 2.95" Reichard Racing pulley. Now it makes 11 lbs of boost. After some minor tuning on the dyno it now makes 441.86 rwhp and 414.91rwtq on a safe tune. Not too shabby considering this is on untouched SSC heads, cam and block.
I feel that Saleen really did well when building these SSC engines. I've been so impressed since the first day I drove mine.
Good Job Saleen

Great numbers. :nice: What injectors and what is considered a safe tune, your timing? Where is your fuel pressure set at?

Keep an eye on your engine temp as summer approches. Running 11 lbs on the street and dyno are too different things. 1 gear pull on the dyno is no sweat but going through the gears in 90 degree temp with hot air being forced into the cyclinders is a good mix for blowing head gaskets. I see 10 to 11 lbs through the stock 3.33 pulley using AFM powerpipe and retarded timing to keep the power down. I made 418.4 rwhp and we increased the timing just a bit and felt tranny issues and clutch slipage. I have stock tranny but Spec clutch. It sure is fun and hope you enjoy it.

I'm running 42s with no FMU. Fuel pressure is set at 32psi at idle. Yeah the timing is back down pretty good. Not actually sure where it ended up though, I'll have to check on that. I also turned up my boost retard a notch afterwards and promised myself and my tuner that I would leave it alone. I never push my SSC as hard as it gets pushed on the Dyno.
I've been slowly tinkering with pulleys for over a year now. I got a pile of them.LOL It started at 4lbs out of the box, then 7lbs, then 9lbs since january and now 11. It has been a slow cautious transition testing the waters.
On the cooling issues, Summer before last I installed a set on Ramchargers Fans on my big HD radiator. The hottest I have seen it in 2 summers "on the road" has been 195. I had it on a track back in May and it reached a little over 200, but with some major pushing. Road courses tend to heat things up.
So far my world class t-5 is holding up good. My centerforce clutch just loves it.

Looking good Randy. I knew she had about that in her. Remember I said with that pully you'd end up with about 440rwhp! I got my throwout bearing replaced so I guess I'm ready for the dyno. I'm going with the race gas for the big numbers! lol.... Wonder if I can improve on the 508rwhp I have using race gas. :-) Only time will tell. You still going to put the SSC on the dyno for the dyno day?

All I've read is that they are stock heads ported with bigger valves. They used SVO 1.7 rocker arms. Wish I new more.
The SSC headers are very large in diameter also.
