Mustang5L5 said:Lol, the best handbrake i ever had was in a drum brake-equipped 4-banger Mustang. It would lock up the rear wheels with only 3 clicks. I could be doing 30MPH+ and click it up 3 clicks and both rears would lock and drag the tires. It was amazing.
Neither of my disk-brake equipped Mustangs can do that![]()

Snikt89GT said:I've got a question about the front brake lines. the 10th. 2003 cobra caliper kit came with some new stainless lines which I assume are for SN95 cars. They bolt to the caliper fine but the Fox and SN95 hard lines are different, correct?
I think I need to purchase these adapters to use these lines that came with the kit to hook to my fox hard lines. Another option would be the Fox to SN95 SS lines that Maximum sells, but they are 80$. Do I have this right?

Mustang5L5 said:Yes, you are correct. Take a look at the ends of the SS lines where they would bolt to the body. If you look closely, you'll notice they are different sizes. On the Fox, they are supposed to be the same size. SO one line will bolt up fine, and the other line will need an adapter.
I don't know the adapter part number offhand, but it's a cheap weatherhead fitting sold at NAPA. I'm sure it's printed on the many 5-lug websites somewhere or someone has it.
ANother thing, make sure you get some paint on those drums and the center of the rotors. First time you get them wet they will rust up fast. The Brembo rotors used to come with primer in the center but now they are bare. I did my rotors in silver
Snikt89GT said:Can you see the center of the rotor that needs to be painted through the wheel? I suppose I could use the same paint but I don't know if it would look wierd since it's black.

Snikt89GT said:Some stuff is already starting to roll in, this is a good start.
Had to make this image super crappy since stangnet only allows 78K for images.
I also revised my list some after speaking to my buddy who is going to help. I decided just to do all of the suspension stuff now as well. It's amazing how much money this project keeps going up. I still need another 2300$ worth of stuff or so and I already have the axles, spindles, and cobra brakes.
