I know there are threads out there, but I am tired of looking and not finding any direct answers..

Lets start with my car:
1995 5.0
4R70W trans w/shift kit
BBK CAI
PP 70MM TB
3:73 gears
2" drop springs

what I have:
1996 Explorer intake
1998 GT40P heads
and was given a E303 cam w/Lunati roller lifters

i was not goin to do a cam swap, just 1.7 rockers and maybe longer pushrods? But should i just use this E303 cam or stay with the game plan?

I am planning on using a SC or turbo in the future..

Thanks :D

E cam is a decent cam... hell if you have it use it:nice:

I do recall, and others might too...

somebody a few years ago referring to it as "The E Cam of Fury"

Seriously though, for what you have, it will benefit your performance noticeably.

Thanks guys... I have a Vortech head unit that i was going to use eventually..

I heard that the SN95 puter might not take the cam change to well.. Is there any truth to this or just a hit and miss thing?

AARRGGHH!!

thats what I thought... so is there a way around keeping the computer from acting up, or do i have to get a chip? I have heard some people never have a problem and some just deal with it while others buy a chip or program, but I think my computer is already being a lil b***h over the CAI and new 70MM TB...

I have a issue with it not idleing when its cold..:notnice:

Could just be me..

Thanks guys..

if your switching out the cam your better off getting a tune anyway to get the most power out of it. too many people skip this and end up with all kinds of problems and they wonder why. I think a tune is the single most important part of a car.

Ok, gotcha. Cam is ok with a tune!:nice:

So I am doing the cam swap and need to find a place to get it tuned..

Thanks a bunch.. best info so far.:D

i also thinkin about jumping up to 3:90 gears. I dont think that my gears are 3:73(told when bought the car). mine is a ddoooogggggggg off the line.

E-cam is not a good blower cam. At all. The E-cam is good for noise and thats about it. If you want to swap a cheap cam in there see if you can sell/swap for an F-cam. Much better for boost and your computer will get along with it. Also check out the Steeda 18.

i had always heard that both the e and the f are good for a blower with the f being better but the e still being decent.

Ok ok, calm down peeps. This is not a gear debate.. I have been in a stang with 4:10's + 4R70W trans and 1st gear is way too short..And the car hits o/d before the end of the 1/4 at 12.9.. :notnice: i have 3:73's and may go up to 3:90's.. nothing higher..

LOL..

i didnt think an F cam would go in without fly cutting the pistons and getting a stall converter?? I remember the E cam being a really rough idle like the F.. And the F cam supposedly causes more issues with the EEc then the E cam..

But hey, thats why i asked.. i really appreciate the info guys...:nice:
