I just ordered a new crank sensor. I found the same one that DIY sells for $53 + shipping on amazon for $24 shipped.

I moved the sensor too close to the wheel and it got chewed up, so I'm going to just replace it to rule that out as an issue. I'm also going to relocate the trigger to where the manual says to put it, although it shouldn't matter since the offset can be 0-360.

I don't get you COP/CNP guys.....

I have got to have singlehandidly the most complex build of anybody here, but because of my decision to use EDIS, the ignition part of the build has been the simplest part of the deal.
Why you and Steve wanna make it harder on yourselves Is beyond me..

Well, you can retain 'most complex build' status. This is no more or less difficult than EDIS. It's the same concept, just a few more connections. All of my gremlins to date have been hair-brained errors on my part. As soon as I can quit working against myself, it should run fine. The coils all work as they should, it the crank trigger that's giving me fits it seems.

How'd it get chewed? Is there a crap-ton of runout on your "custom" trigger wheel? lol

Im sure that's part of it. I think I just wasn't paying attention and got it too close. I 've found a lot of really stupid mistakes as I've gone back through everything, mostly stemming from hurrying because I only had a few minutes to try and get something done.

Hey collin where did you get your LS coils? how much did they cost? I am thinking about ditching the BIP373 driver circuits and running these logic level coils. seems so much easier than dealing with the induced noise from direct coil control.

You can get tons of coils from a junkyard for hardly any money really.

I was just thinking that as most of my parts are from the jy parts bin! heck even ebay has them cheap it seems $80 for coils pigtails and brackets... thats less than a set of edis plug wires

Tanner gave me a set he had laying around, but one was broken. I bought the replacement off Rock Auto for pretty cheap.
The wires are a cut-to-fit set, I got them from Jegs for $38 I think.

I wish that were true. I called around to find a set today and was quoted outrageous prices [jy mind you] so i called the you-pull-it they said $25 for each set with brackets. I thought Sweet! so i headed down there [45min drive] found a truck and pulled them with the brackets and all. go to pay and she says $220....... ah excuse me you said $25 per side with brackets. 'You must have misheard me' she says 'all coils are 25 each the brackets are 10 each and i will give you the pigtails for free' I was very specific when i called up here what i wanted you just wasted my time...
END RANT I am not very happy right now.

Wow, that'd make me pretty angry. We've been getting them at local yards anywhere from 25-75 for all coils, brackets, and wires. Somebody I know stuffed a door full of them and walked out for 25 bucks, scrapped the door and had around 36 various LS coils to play with. lol

But the interwebs says I can have a complete junkyard LS swap my fox for only $200 (and run 10's).... and to think I believed them this whole time (sarc)

Nope. Sensor has shipped, might have it by the weekend. Hopefully that cures everything.

As if one non-running vehicle wasn’t enough, I tore into my truck to fix the coolant leak caused by the rotted and broken driver front intake bolt. Not to be outdone, the passenger front intake bolt broke off too.

Do I:
A) continue tearing down the motor and slap the GT40P heads on (still need valve job) and GT40 intake, headers, etc.
B) don’t fvck with the heads, but put on the GT40 intake and the 1.7rr I have
C) just fix the broken bolts and put the GT40 intake back on
D) leave it the hell alone, only fix what’s broke, and go back 100% stock
