I just ordered a new crank sensor. I found the same one that DIY sells for $53 + shipping on amazon for $24 shipped.
I moved the sensor too close to the wheel and it got chewed up, so I'm going to just replace it to rule that out as an issue. I'm also going to relocate the trigger to where the manual says to put it, although it shouldn't matter since the offset can be 0-360.
