The (near) Future is Not Electric

Don’t forget it takes less people to build these cars and the car companies are talking about how they’re going to double their profit ..... let alone all the mining for the precious materials to make the batteries what will that do to the environment ..... they are pushing their agenda for profit ....
What do you think car companies and oil companies have been doing for the past century?

it’d be more like the Tesla’s having a field day whooping up on that ass. Silently.

Eh, 99% of them are driven by old folks who would be afraid to press the pedal down any more than necessary.

Given how pricey most of them still are, not too many boy racers in them.

Up here in the Northeast, that title is held by the Subaru WRX

Well then,….Given that stat ( that I don’t disagree with)..

Braggin that you downshifted and flew by the geezer driving the prius, or the geriatric driving the Tesla is kinda like bragging that you did the same for ricer boy driving his Honda.

The fact that the typical guy driving a Tesla will probably never put the pedal on the mat, doesn’t change the fact that there isn’t a single freakin production mustang to current day that’ll 0-60 faster than a Tesla.

We had a Plaid at work. OMG that thing is fast. The Max sells Teslas now. I'm thinking about taking some EV courses and taking the ASE tests. I have 11 certifications now but actually want to get out of the wrenching trade and into the teaching trade. I think it's the only viable option I have left. With manufacturers winning proprietary info lawsuits it may also fall to the way side. Every generation seems to loose a little common sense. The big car companies don't want people working on their products that aren't trained and licensed by them. I understand but it's going to kill the mechanic trade. The only labor force with no representation.

Pork fat and beer
Now where did I put that Mr. Fusion adapter.
Seriously, I can't wait till the teslas start showing up at car shows.
I still don't care, like a smart phone, the car will be smarter in self drive mode than the driver, now they can check their facepage (or is it Metapage?) while eating a spaghetti taco without killing people.
Right!!!

I thought we just determined that the typical owner of a Tesla is over 60.

Most 60+ yr olds don’t text while sitting, much less while driving.
I ain't getting no tesla, I'm over 60, I sit and text, Used to walk and text but I ended up in the neighbors yard once.
I was on my way to the bathroom.
Ok, maybe there was some gum chewing involved
No one was home so I peed on a rose bush.

In NJ the old drivers are in Prius. The Teslas are loaded with all metrosexuals who have zero knowledge about cars sporting a hand on their phone at all times while sipping their double caramel espresso latte driving ten mph under in the right lane. I'm not that person and for that reason I will continue to cut them off in my loud annoying 88 hatch daily.

  • Hell Yeah!
