The Official MACn89blckstng Progress Thread

I got the brakes bled out and functional today and took her to the warehouse to do a little test drive. Got a few issues, probably should have waited cause the damn thing got soaked but I was able to drive it!

Here's two short videos not the greatest but they will do for now. Plus it aint much to look at. And I look like a jack ass in the seat cause the seat it way too far forward for me. lol The power seat track isn't hooked up yet so I can't move the seat.

So I got to starting the body work on the car. It shouldn't take me too long to get the car straight. I shaved the antenna, and got the whole fender straight in about 3.5-4 hours of work. Thank god these cars have small panels, the last car I did was a 66 gto and that thing was a bear to do! Here's two pics of the fender in plastic. Thats two very thin coats of rage gold. I also shapened up the body line on the front bumper as well since the aftermarket bumpers are a little soft. I want the body lines to be super crispy when I'm done with it!

looking good man! is that dust gonna destroy your interior with no windshield there?

also, how did that stock alternator work out for you on your DD?

Na, the dust wont hurt anything. Everynight I pull it out of the shop and blow the whole car off.

I didn't end up using it, my problem was with the 88 too, I think its cause I have an underdrive pulley on it. At idle I only have 9 volts charging but if I take it to 1300 I'm fine. I want to try to find an aluminum stock size pulley. I'm just keeping that alt around for a spare now.

yep sure is I put those wheels on it for a couple weeks for the hell of it.

and I never listen to the regular radio, I love my sirius. I'll never go back to listening to regular radio.
damn straight!! my reciever is in my truck right now, but this weekend its getting moved to my LX. its what I drive everyday now.

here's some more pics. The drivers quarter is done. The shell should be finished soon. Slowly but surely!
I welded the skin to the brace since all the rivets were broke, its nice an solid, just needs a skim coat to get the slight warpage I got out.

UNBELIEVABLE build!!!

AWESOME thread! if this isn't motivation to get a build going or get a build back on track, nuttin' will!

if the rest of your car turns out as sick as your valve covers and engine bay :nice: i'd say you have a winner. i didn't read through every post but i noticed you were talking about a 2 stage launch system?? is this car going to be a 1/4 mile car?

I can't speak for the OP but having talked with him some, I'm sure the car will get its fair share of abuse on the track! :D

Oh yea this car is all set up for drag, 90/10's and 50/50's, eibach drag launch springs. It will definatly get its share of racing, I'd like to get competitive but well see. I also want to do the show thing too. I want to get this car out there with my name on it to try and bring business in.

man you are getting close to paint can't wait to see this thing too bad your not close

yea I'm working on it two days a week for about 3 and a half hours and all day saturdays and sundays so its coming along pretty quickly! I'm psyched about it!
