Progress Thread Therapy Car-- Freshening Up the Lower Intake

Good things and not so good things happened yesterday. The misses got fired up and cut in the epoxy on the shop floor! Then 4 hours later that 50% chance of rain 50%ed all over the place. I dont think it hurt anything, but its going to be awhile before we can finish putting the first coat down.

Drove the car to work today. About 32 miles one way. It ran great. No stutter at constant speed and it doesn't try to go dead if you get on it a little. The check engine light came on again as well as the check oil light. It has plenty of oil in it and the pressure, according to the factory gauge, looks good. I installed a MM solid steering shaft a few months back when I was working on the front end. I had a bit of play in the steering wheel after install. Just a couple of degrees of wheel turn either way before it connected and actually started turning the wheels. I was told you had to really tighten the crud out of the connecting point at the top of the shaft. It was already tight, but I got back in there and really got on it. Honestly it didnt feel like it really moved, but now the steering in nice and tight! I guess it did something . Only problem now is the wheel, air bag, is slightly cocked to the right with the car going straight down the road. It's annoying, but I'll get it sorted out at some point. The people that were going to come stay with us this weekend had to reschedule due to the storm in the gulf, they live in Baton Rouge. They aren't in danger of storm damage its other reasons, but if the weather holds out here I'm going to try to install the new O2 sensors this weekend.

You and me both! It's killing me having all that space and not being able to do anything with it. If everything works out it should be done in about a month or so. Plan to get back on it next week.

Once the floor is done I can move stuff in, but then the next step will be to get all the lighting up and start dropping receptacles. At the moment I've got 200 amp and not a single outlet.

I think I figured out why my low oil light is coming on.


This is exactly what happened before my low oil light started coming on. I bet I pinched the pig tail somewhere. I'll check it out while I'm under there changing O2 sensors.

Got one of the O2 sensors changed, drivers side. The passengers side one currently on the car has a very long pig tail. The one I have is short.

You can see a pic of the one I have already posted in the pic. I'm pretty sure I need to get O2 sensor wire extensions as my car has long tubes and it appears the PO just made it work.

Made a discovery. Apparently when I unhooked my O2 sensor wire to make sure I had the right one a couple months back, I forgot to hook it back up. Car ran fine driving it yesterday but I'm sure it didnt do it any good.



When I went to roll up the driver's side window yesterday it got to the top and started making a popping sound. Not good. When I when to roll it down it didnt want to go until I helped it. Now it doesn't want to go all the way up. I guess ill be getting after that soon.

Also, why are the old O2 sensors so much bigger than the new ones?
