Timing for Maximum Power

Has anybody experimented with timing? Dataloging indicates my chip is currently set for a maximum of 26 at WOT. Is anybody successfully running more total timing without pinging?

Over a year ago when I was using a chip I did allot of data logging of my timing and below is what I ran with no ping issues. I have since changed to using a TA so I cant accurately data log my timing. I would say you are right in the ball park. Who programmed your chip?

Hey TXSnake, good to see you on the board. Shawn at SoCal Diablo did my chip. I've been very happy with it. The A/F was very close and I've never had any problems with pinging with the current timing map.

Even after two years I'm still adjusting to these DOHC motors. 26 degrees total timing is so low compared to a traditional V8 which requires at least 32 total, even with a very sophisticated combustion chamber. Our cylinder heads must have great flame propogation.
