Tire Question, 285's on a 9" rim???

Hey guys. I have 18x9 Cobra R's on my car right now and i'm running a 275/35/18 out back. I'm getting new tires next week and plan on getting something a bit wider in the back. The reason i want to go with a 285/35/18 is because i'm planning on getting a set of DD 18" Bullitts in a few month that are 18x10 in the back, so if i get 285's now, i won't have to get new tires again.
I've asked the question in the other tire/wheel threads and go no real response and used the search button and nothing really.

Basically, is it okay to put a 285/35/18 on a 9" wide rim in the back?

i know of 2 people that are running 295's on their 9" rim. so i'd say your ok with the 285's

I'm running 17X9 Cobra R's with 285/40/17's on the rear, so I don't see why 18's would be a problem.

I'm running 285's on a 9" rim in the rear and i've had no problems....

But i'm wondering how good a 285 would look on a 10" rim.... I think the minimum you would want to go would be 295.
