I just ordered some new rims, they're 18x9 saleen rims that are powder coated black. I'm trying to figure out what would be the right tire size to go with them? A 275/35/18 tire is the size that seems like it would be the fit best, but I'm new at this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

275 would fit great on a 9" wheel. I had them on my 17x9's and they were decent. My only issue was the front would tend to follow the ruts in the road really bad. I now have 255 on 18x9 Saleen replicas and 295 on 18x10

I think the "normal" size for 18X9 is 265/35, but we've seen up to 295's on them.

i'm running 265/35/18's on mine. i would like to go down to a 255. as stated above they really tend to follow the road the wider you go. i wouldnt go any bigger than a 265/35. now on the rear i would love to have a 315/30/18.

So will 265's on an 18X9 provide any protection from scratching my rim if i accidentally rub against a curb? I'd rather scuff up a tire than a rim.

Mine do. I have the KDW-2s and Saleens 18X9 up front, 18X10 in the back. They have the rim protector and the tires overlap nicely. I'm running 265 in the front 295 in the rear.

if all you are wanting is a tire that will protect your rims, you should just get a tire with rim guard. just go to your local tire shop and tell them you want whatever size with rim guard.
