Good day all,

Considering we have a dyno now in SK that uses SCT, I am thinking about trying to arrange to bring JW from SCT to SK for a dyno weekend. I do not have a date in mind, I would like it to be after I have my TBird drive-train installed though. I can say from previous dyno weekends with JW, that we are going to need 30 - 40 cars guaranteed to show up. This is why I am bringing this to the table. Is there any interest in AB, SK and MB to perhaps pull this off?

A little bit about JW, JW was an engineer at both GM and Ford. He was one of the engineers behind the 4R70W automatic, he was also involved in the MN12 platform( 89 - 97 TBird/Cougar ) and FN10 platform( 93 - 98 Lincoln Mark VIII ). He wrote the factory tune files for the LSC Mark VIII models.

By many top modular builder's and tuner's out there, he is considered to be the best. He has done many dyno days at many of the top SCT Shops, including JMS, MD and MPH.

If you are running a SCT mail-order tune, and would consider a dyno tune, this is the guy you want doing it.

Now on the down side, we are going to need 30 - 40 cars. JW does prefer dynojets dynos over mustang dynos, so we may have to move this to Winnipeg or Calgary. If that be the case, I think Winnipeg would be the better location due to elevation factors, we will see better numbers out of Winnipeg.

So before I attempt to put this together, is there any interest for this? What date would be good for people, this may not occur until summer 06? Any other relevant thoughts? I can guarantee 2 cars( mine ).

I guess it depends, my car is pretty stock in terms of performance mods... so it probably wouldn't be worth it unless it was a similar price to a regular tune and dyno run, cause I want to get my car dyno'd next summer and if they can adjust my mail order tune to fir my car a bit better then all the power to em!

if its before summer no go..

no way i'll have my car back together and plated by then, and odds are neither will joe.. but other than that i'd consider it.. dpending on the price etc.

that and majestics will take up a month of time, and money for quite a few of us, so youre best bet is probably like a month after majestics (although before WOULD be better, so joe can put his obscene dyno numbers up for all to see ha)

Yup that about sums it up. I am hoping that my days off from the two places line up soon so I can get started. If not then I will take an extra 500 and just buy a new block. Assemble it and do the swap. If that is the case I may have a low milage 2000 4.6 for sale, complete.

I now have everything needed minus headers sitting right here. Let me tell you, those MPH 2.5 heads are:hail2: + , not to mention the Bullitt showed up the other day.:D

I am going to need more than the few people showing interest and the 5 confirmed cars/trucks I do have. I seriously doubt this is going to happen here. Time frame of this happening is in the air but unless there is more interest being shown, it is hardly worth pursuing.

maybe find out an approx price per tune and you might get a better responce..

i'm assuming this guy is going to charge an arm and a leg, wich most people wont bother with.. if you had good idea what he would want per tune, i'm sure that would help your case out.

The average SCT dyno weekend's with JW do actually tune around 30 - 40 cars in a weekend. However they are sold out, and you have to pretty much guarantee a sell out to get JW.

Also, I will go back and get the average prices of the last few dyno days JW has done, to give everyone an idea on price. These will be in US dollars though and not definitely the what we may end up paying. These days do usually include sweet deals on SCT hardware and the cost of tuning is reduced because there is a bunch of cars.

First, I am not going to guarantee these prices!!! They maybe higher or lower, these are an average of the last 3 dyno days JW did that I could find info on. Prices are in CDN funds.

We are looking at about $300 for a dyno tune including the dyno time. $50 per extra file if you want more than one. $600 for an X-Cal2 with your file on it, new SCT Customer, $475.00 for a SCT 4 bank chip with your file on it.
