Ever since I've installed this Dynomax cat-back on my car, along with the ill-fitting UPR X-pipe (which has been a headache, all its own), I've been unable to get the tailpipes to hang horizontal as most other kits' tailpipes seem to. No matter how I wiggle and adjust and twist, I always end up with the tails aimed in a sort of upswept manner, with only about 1/4" of space between the top of the pipes and the rear bumper (which, of course, makes for obnoxious thumping sounds over bumps, now and then). In a way, it doesn't look all that bad ... unless you park it next to another Fox with its tails aligned straight and flat, in which case mine looks either "customized" or just strangely misaligned.
At first I suspected it was the X-pipe, from hanging too low in front and thus causing the rear to aim upwards as a consequence. However, my buddy with a '90 notch and the same cat-back has the same problem, except he's running longtube headers and a shorty H-pipe. I've also seen a lot of other Foxes running 'round on the road with this same tailpipe alignment, although I can't always tell what kind of cat-back they're running on theirs.
Anyone else had this same problem with their Dynomax cat-back? ... or is it likely a matter of the front-end of the exhaust system hanging too low (for both my buddy and myself)?
