Anyone used this?

After reading another post about smog pump removal loading up the Cats, I thought about replacing my h-pipe with an off-road X pipe. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg though, and don't want to have to pay a shop.

Any other suggestions?
Running BBK Shorties, if that matters.

Thanks,
Greg

i had eccentualy the same x pipe only mine came from jegs. its a decent x pipe for the money. do you have an auto tranny? if you have a 5spd then save up for the dr gas o/r x. i switched mine to that and love it better. but to answer ur question that xpipe is decent for the money

I've got a 5-speed. What makes the Dr. Gas a better choice? Summit didn't offer that one--where's a good place to buy one?

Other opinions on a good O/R X-pipe in the $200 range? What about MAC? BBK? Bassani? Not ready to buy a stainless system since the rest of my exhaust isn't stainless; no sense spending the money on partial stainless system.

x2 on the dr gas o/r x pipe, good sounding x pipe. i used to have a summit h-pipe, and switched to the dr gas when i did bbk longtube headers. im might still have the summit h pipe laying around if your interested

I have had both of this exhaust set up. the Dr. Gas i purchased about 2 months ago. and Flowtech H-pipe before that...Guess what?!

I have H-pipe back in my car. I bought Dr. Gas because of all the Hype...

Unless you are constantly revving and driving your car at 5500-6500 RPM. May be you will gain 2-3 HP with dr gas. On top end only!

You end up losing HP on low end. I will sell you mine $200 shipped to your door. I don't want it.

I am a big H-pipe fan.

the reason the dr gas is better is the design of it, the crossover is much closer to the headers than any of the other h/x pipes for better scavenging. it comes in 5 pieces to be custom fit for your car and if installed right will hug your floorboard better than any other mid pipe out there. the only downfall is just it not being a direct bolton. i love mine and i could tell a lil difference in power from midrange up with no loss in the lowend.

Do you have dyno proof for this? No loss of lower end?

i had mac shorties and mac o/r h-pipe, just recently switched to bbk longs and dr. gas x-pipe. i can't say which made the more difference but i can tell you i did feel it. its probably mostly from the long tubes but i'd like to think the x-pipe made a difference as well.

you can mock it up, clamp it down then take it and get it welded. make sure and have a sawzall with you. also make sure the car is at ride hieght to do it to make the x pipe as close to the floorboard as possible.

to hollywood. no i dont have dyno proof. if you can feel a difference, then its obvious it made more power. also i forgot to mention, much less drone and much quieter inside the car.

i got mine from 5litrarag on sn95forums.com he may have the same name on here. 218 shipped. cant beat it

we just tacked it up on the car and then took it down and welded it nice and good. reinstalled it. i thought it would fit right up there but we did have to cut almost 2" off the driver's side header piece for it to work.
