If you don't think that $3,200 is alot of money than fine. i guess you SH** green!

And yeah I'm gonna post about what the deal is. I was actaully posting to find out if anyone knew the sales manager. that was the reason for the post.

Do you realize how much mark up there is in a lot of what they sell? Not everything, but a lot.

Grow up!

I need to grow up?? because you made a post about the company not cutting you a break. No I don't ***** green as you say, I spend my money wisely but if and when I buy new, I ask about a discount, either get it or not and then don't whine on the internet that the big bad company didn't cut me a deal.

Also sounds like you were calling people (probably me) names... and I need to grow up???

Funny, funny internet we have these days. I guess age is just a number and doesn't speak for peoples attitudes!

It's simple, just wanted to post to see if my fellow stangers had any experience in getting a discount from 50 resto when placing a large order.

That's it. I had thought we were supposed to help one another out.

I'll tell ya 25th, you are one reason why I moved from the North East. Bad attitudes!

I see both sides of the pictures.

On one hand it does come across as you were bitching about not getting a discount and made several attempted with 5.0 resto to get your way. (i.e. discount) You felt it was justified because of the amount.

On the other hand, I can understand having to pay bills, manage other finances, and saving money here and there for the Mustang. I can understand wanting a discount because it does seem like a rather large amount of money.

The way it came across is that you were complaining about it. People voiced who they felt about it, and the thread spun out of control. Now it just seems like a pissing match, which we all know how that turns out.

For me, with a very tight budget, it boils down to saving every penny I can...and If I have to make a bunch of calls to get a discount, I'll do it.

I'm sure there's people that think I'm a whiney jerk and so on, but at the end of the day the squeaky wheel gets the grease and I'm cruising in my stang with the parts I was able to buy through saving money by asking. I couldn't care less if the parts suppliers love me or hate me. Especially when I'm spinning 6K rpm going through the twisties :nice:

I didn't take the original poster's comments as a complaint against 50 resto, but more of a query on how to go about getting the discount he wanted. I'm all for that, and that's what Stangnet is all about!

We are! And I say congratulations on the discount. I'm surprised that they gave you one for an order of that size. However, I'm glad they did because I might try the same attempt next time I make a purchase from them.

It is one thing to ask for a discount, it is another to ask, call back 3 times like the poster said (basically refusing to talk to the company until they discounted stuff for him) and then posting about the company online because they wont sell their parts cheaper then they list.

I have no issues with him asking, after all if you don't ask you never know, but to come on here and complain about the company asking what the deal is...

Thats where the issue lies!

Completely agreed. If he would of started a thread about "who gives discounts and how much you need to spend" THEN that would have been okay. But to start a thread and bitch about it is childish.

I had a rock go through a foglight on my way back from Michigan and ordered "one" from them. They sent me 2 instead for the price of one. Now seriously, you can't do much better than that. :D

I spent alot of time behind a speed shop counter, and I couldn't tell you how many times in a day people would call up and say stuff like " I plan on spending alot of money" and they are asking for a price on something that is less than $50. Honestly most of the time we blew those kind of people off, but if you were a regular who has spent alot of money over the years or actually ready to deal on a big pile of parts I'd try to cut you a pretty good deal. I'm just glad I got out of retail.

I work in retail on a daily basis and from what I can see, EVERYONE cries about the pricing. Ya know what? TOO BAD! It is what it is. There's nothing worse than someone who pulls up in a Cadillac Escalade and then cries because a bag of Lawn Fertilizer + Merit is $64.50, or that a gallon of Broadleaf Weed Control cost $35.00. Those are the idiots I can't stand.

The customers I respect the most are the ones who come in, know what they want, know what the price is and are nice to deal with. They listen to your advice and treat you with respect. Those guys, more often than not, will get much better customer service from me and a lower price (if I can do it.) For what it's worth, the company that I work for will give you volume pricing so that a customer who's buying 200 bags of fertilizer, will be paying less than a guy who buys 40. The guy who buys 40 will be paying less than the guy who buys 1. This is not a hard concept to grasp, yet I get customers who come in and expect to pay the same as my best, high volume customers. WTF?

The worst customers are the ones who come in and say stupid stuff like, "How come you're more expensive than Home Cheapo?" Then I have to let them in on the Home Depot secret and that's that they carry different sized bags than us, use quicker releasing fertilizers and offer NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They also carry whatever they can get for the cheapest price. They clearly do not have the customer's best interest at heart, yet people love them because of the pricing. It boggles my mind.

wow... I spend $1000's of dollars every year from Mustangs unlimited and summit. I dont expect discounts, but when i get them great. Maybe being a business owner, i know they need to make a living, no matter how big or small the company is.. hell in the past year, ive prolly spent $20k at Summit, and at least $8000 at Mustangs Unlimted, and Im gonna end up doin the same in 08.

OK. How about if I spend the $3,000 all at once? You don't think that's worth a discount? Come on, be real.

shoot, I have called Summit, Jeg's and Mustangs Unlimited for other parts I need and they offered it up!

if someone intends do give you a lot of their business, you throw them a bone.

It's just like a buyback from a bartender for tipping.

This isn't a post whining about the company not cutting you a deal? Telling them to be real.

Oh well, I'm done.

With the level of service I recieve from 5.0 resto(especially Brian), I wouldn't even ask for a discount. They have spent over a half hour on the phone with me in regards to different upgrades I'm interested in and never rush me and always make sure I have all the information I need. That being said, they did give me a discount once because they kept sending me damaged hoods in shipping. :nice:
