OK I know this may be a biased question for those who already have their cams, but which cams are the best?

I am looking for something not too radical in case I put on a power adder(boost). I also would like to see some moderate N/A gains in the meantime.

I have found a good shop willling to do the install for about $1000 parts included I just need to figure out which manufacturer, and or profile you guys suggest.

Also any advice on avoiding PTV clearance would be helpful.

I don't have any experience with cam manufacturers but I've heard lots of good things about VT engines. Stage 1 is pretty mild. Stage 2 is more aggressive but requires new valve springs. Don't have any #s for the stage 1 but I know people usually gain about 20 peak rwhp and close to 50 rwhp @ 5800 with stage 2. Also heard good things about Comp cams but don't have any numbers...

As long as the timing is adjusted correctly, aftermarket cams shouldn't cause any piston to valve contact.

Its all in the tune, your milage wont really be affected unless you a leadfoot, well, then it would be crap anyways. Usually your gonna see around 35rwhp from good set of N/A cams, 50 would be at the very end of your rpms, which is great because you can then shift at 6k instead of 5500 :bang: Good luck! :flag:
P.S. I'd call Tim at www.modularfordpowerhouse.com, think they have a special for 525 for custom ground cams to fit your exact needs :nice:

VT Stage 2 port + Comp 268 Cams 17cc CP pistons.. Had to fly cut pistons for piston valve clearance.
