Who Has White A/C Face?

Im looking in the mags, and I see them listed from $15 to $40. Just wondering what the differences are, and how they attach.

The $15 one from 50resto.com is a stick on decal. I was wondering if they are all like that, or just that one, and that's why it's so cheap.

I have the stick on one's from mac I think and they worked out well. They really look good in our cars.

I got the ones from UPR, they are stick on. It involves removing the radio to get to some screws to remove the center bezel. You peel off the old face, clean it up with some rubbing alcohol and apply the new ones. The only complaint is that most of the aftermarkets are a little "fuzzy" looking at night with the lights on. Oh well 10 bucks dealer cost.

I just installed mine over the black ones. I didn't stick it on either and its fine.

I would be sure to install them in a dark area with the market lights on. That way you can see that you have the opaque part of the overlay directly over the illuminated part on the stock housing. Otherwise, one can finish up in daylight and the first time the car is driven at night, it does not look so aligned.

If you line them up with the edges, they will pretty much line up with the lights. Those things (at least the reputable company ones) are cut to fit pretty precisely.

LXSTASY, Did you leave the wax paper on the back of the overlay? How well does light transmit through it? I like that idea.

I did leave the back on. I never glued it on and I'm glad I did. I bought the UPR EL-Glow ones and changing them was very easy because the other one was not permanently on. As for the light coming through, I never had a problem with it being visible. It looked good. If you are having trouble lining it up you can use a little piece of tape on the back like double-stick scotch tape to keep it in place. The knobs really are the ones that keep it in place if it is not glued down. Try it at first and see how you like it.

Mine sitting here has the 3M adhesive on the back - so f**k I guess it's the stick on. I've got the white face guages though - I really don't think it matters if they're stick on or not, same thing basically.

I think that they are all stick on. Its your choice whether to do the sticking or not.
