Baffled by weird issue. Did a search and find many about window guides and motors but this has me stumped.
I just picked up a 91 vert LX 4 cyl 5 speed with just 90 k on it. Car is clean and was never hit. Garage queen. Once in a while the windows stop working entirely. If I open and close the drivers door they usually start back up again.
Checked the switch for loose connections and the boot between the door and jamb is clean with no signs of being crushed.
My windows are stuck down!
Anyone run into this before? HELP! It rains a lot in Ct in the summer…..

Run 12 volts to the motors to see if they are the problem... I assume you have checked fuses??
Then clean all grounds...
From there test your switches...

Another possibility is that there is a wiring issue in the grommet between the body and the door. May not have any signs of damage but who knows how many times that door has been opened and closed with it being a garage queen. Most likely lots of short trips which puts a lot of open and close action on those wires. Pull it back from either side and check the wires as there could be one or two that are broken.

This guy also had window issues and found broken wires in the boot.

The controls operate through both switches on each doors, so my guess is there is a break in the wire in the driver's door are

wiring diagrams if needed

Just in case someone searches this the 1993 cars are one year only on the power window wiring. My copy of the 1993 EVTM shows the ground for the power widows and lock is in the middle of the driver door on a 93 regardless of hardtop or vert. Would think that would be the same on the 87-92's but I cannot confirm.
