97 Cobra w/98k mileage.

I say "for..." because I'm thinking of putting down nothing over 420rwhp.

Yes i said i didn't want a blower, but i can put it on and tune it the next day. Basicly I've always had long tubes on my cars that were blown but wondering if i should on this one.

I figure my car has 98k miles on it, putting a D1 at 10psi on 93 should get me over 400rwhp with stock manifolds or am I wrong?

BTW i usually went with Mac long tubes and usually got 20rwhp + with a full exhaust on a 4v.

Let me know I really like this cobra and I don't wanna spend money 2x's buying the same kind of thing.

Alot of people will tell you not to do LT's. IMO, it depends on what type of gains you are looking for. Dyno numbers may not really change much, but the power under the torque curve will go up. What i use to justify adding LT's is my 1/4 mile mph. Before headers, I was trapping 113-114mph. After, I was trapping 118+ with no other changes besides Lt's. On the dyno, my peak numbers didn't change much though.

I should add that I don't have an sc on my car, I run a 125 shot of nitrous.

I can totally believe the dyno numbers. At one point we were doing 11.3 after a intake, L/ts, and a cam we moved up 3rwhp on the dyno but at the track we went 11.0/10.9.

I think i'm gonig to do more reading up on it. What Long tubes did you go with, i was just thinking about gong with Mac. I don't know if its worth going with kooks.

For the money, I would just go with MAC's. The added hp that you "might" get from Kooks lt's will not be worth the extra money.

I just have a cheap set of Flowtech's on mine. I got them lightly used with the x pipe for $200, so I couldn't really turn it down!

Agreeing with Tim on the choice of Macs. For the price of a pair of Kooks LTs, you can get Mac LTs and also get your midpipe and likely even your catback.

Yea on my 99 cobra i liked my Mac's, i had a o/r h pipe made good power. This stang i'm going to go with a X pipe cause for whatever reason they make 10hp more over H pipes on mod motors. Plus like to see how much the sound changes.
