Wow... will 315/35/17's fit on my vert???!

is it noticable from looking at the car that the inner fender is beat...??? im not woried about the plastic... im woried about cutting up the tires and bending the 1/4 pannel/ top of wheel well

no, i beat the inside of the wheelwell in...like if you take the wheel off, the metal that slightly juts out coming off the rear subframe kinda where the quadshock mounts...id take a pic, but my car is 800 miles away...

Hey Ad-rock. Check eBay for a cat who offers combo rims and tires mounted ready to roll...

The guy typically has 295s in the rear and has loads of 'Stang rims and tires ready for the taking.

The cobras look great on the car though...love photo chop.

Ahh, I see...My brother has 17x10.5 03 Cobra's and 315/35 Summitomo's on his 94 and they do hit the inner fender sometimes when turning into parking lots or driveways. His car is lowered about 1".

Sorry guys i panic like hell when im making big buys... because i never have much cash... i really want these rims and tires... i just dont want my fender all banged up.... and my tires all ripped apart... is there any way around this besides rasing the back up...

Nah, it shouldn't cause a problem. You just need to turn into parking lots slower. Or grind a little bit off the fender lip, or roll the fenders. My brother's had those tires over a year now and I don't think they even have a mark on them from hitting the fenders....

hes not dropped 2 inches though.... i guess if it comes down to it i can just put stock rear springs on it...? how hard is it to roll a fender?

Just talked to one of my friends he said hes rolled a few fenders b4 witout a problem... he cut slits every few inches in the lip and used a rubber hammer... you think with the back rolled ill be able to fit these tires in good? ive also read about using a heat gun and wooden bat... i have a heat gun... my mom is an art teacher... and i guess i could find a bat.... lol i wish i had $ for the tool

Dont roll them unless you have to.

i think your somewhat confused...im not talking about rolling the inside of the fender (the quarter panel)....im talking about inside the car...heres what im taking about...take the back wheels off, and beat in these metal edges with a mallet to make it face inward a bit.....that was when you go around corners, it wont rub...trust me, dont take teh back springs out, just do this if necessary...

What mods do you have and think that will put you into the 13's? I've done it so I know what it takes and can help you if you'd like. I haven't been on much lately and therefore am not familiar with your plans.

Right now im looking to stay stock heads + cam... Because the simple fact i dont know how to change them lol....

Just so you know that didnt happen from normal drivng. Someone rear ended him when that happened.

You shouldn't need to!


I have Super Sports. Also have the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's like Mike .... the widest 315's known to man, lol. If you get them, hears a list of what you need to do (nothing hard at all) .....


1. Remove old wheels / tires.

2. Remove quad shocks. Flip them upside down. Re-install them. (they're 50/50 shocks)

3. Get rubber mallet. Hammer inner well lining (like Michael described above). Only need about 10 whacks per side.

4. Unbolt e-brake cable bracket. Nudge it a little AWAY from the tire. Tighten.

5. Mount new wheels / tires & check clearance.

6. Smoke tires off.
There you have it. Total modification time should take 20 minutes, tops. Price : $0 .... unless you don't have a hammer and a socket set.

+1 on the e-brake cable, I had to bend mine in some, it was hitting aweight on the back of the rim.

That is NOT true! They do in fact make 10.5's without the deep dish. The '95 cobra R without the lip was the FIRST 10.5" wheel readily available for our cars. AFS had made them for years. The "lipped" cobra R's are the new kid on the block so to speak when it comes to 10.5" wheels.


I run 17X10.5" wheels with 315's on my 'vert, but it is not lowered. Do a search for slow50 or Ernan as his 'vert is the same color as yours with the wheels you are planning to get. I think he has 315's too.
