Why bother to repair the metal and smear a coat of bondo over it, when there's bondo?

Looking good there man, glad to see you making some kick-ass progress.
If I may give one suggestion when plug welding on thinner gauge material that might help you get a little flatter, consistent weld. And don't get me wrong, they look just fine the way they are, I just always look for ways to make welds go easier and look better/consistent (and less grinding). It looks like from a couple of your plug welds you are starting on the outside of the hole and working your way into the center (notice the indentation in the middle of the weld where the weld was finished). Start your plug weld in the middle of the hole and work you're way to the outside in a circular fashion, making sure to keep the arc touching the outside of the weld you just laid (not arcing to the material). When you get towards the outside of the hole, you can start pushing the weld puddle into the outer material without the arc actually touching it (you get as close as possible to the outside material without actually arcing to it, keep your arc in the puddle like you should). This prevents the arc from cutting into the edges of the outer material but still allows the material to be welded together properly. You can run a hotter arc by using this method since the main reason for lowering the voltage is so you don't blow through or cut into the outer material. Also, this helps to burn of any contaminants that might be between the material at the outside of the hole before you get there with the weld. A hotter arc also produces a flatter weld.
This method also works for thicker material, but you will want to arc more into the material toward the edge of the hole to get good penetration.

Biggest bug I ever seen.
I went back to work after eating that monster up above. I painted the side of a Dart and struggled to bend over far enough to shoot the rocker panel.
Sooooo, full stomach, really hot and dressing welds do not go together.
I've got my big old butt sitting in my chair with my feet propped up, sipping on some decent whiskey. IN THE AIR CONDITIONING!
My plans are to eat a piece of chocolate cake and watch guy shows on TV.
No Booger tonight. Tomorrow though! I will finish the dressing of the welds and get the sway bar bracket welded on.
Then the weekend will be involved with my removing..................You'll see.
Let's say sunday, I'll let y'all know this coming sunday evening. I should be done by then.

Frame rail is done except for the smoothing now.
Now, no updates for a couple days unless things go smoother and quicker than I expect (but when does that happen?

...uuuhh, I just realized I'm 2 days late.
Honestly, unless work takes a giant turn and I start making what i used to the past 13 years, the engine speculation is just that for a couple years. Fun to look at, but until I can just spend money on that, nothing will happen with the drivetrain.
Next big purchases for me will be the Maximum Motorsports suspension stuff, maybe some Full Tilt Boogie stuff for the IRS.
Then comes the wiring, it'll be totally new. About then I'll have to decide about the engine since I'll need to get whatever computer system to run it all. Plus I won't be able to rebuild the interior until the wiring is in.
Right now I'm sucking down a bunch of water to get ready to go out to the garage.
