I wanted to flip the intake, but it looked like the bolt pattern would only allow it to go towards the passenger side. But, that can't be right... right? they should be able to go both ways.

Maybe. But hopefully, I can get away from using a tree at all. The explorer upper has an array of vacuum ports, and if I only need 4, I should have extras left over that will be capped off.

But the truck has been out of commission for a while and I need it for some yard projects so it took priority.
I’m also scared the fox isn’t going to run with the new crank trigger and I’ll be completely out of ideas, so yes, I’m sand bagging.
Mustang update:
Haven’t messed with it much lately just because I’ve been busy. Finally got 5 mins to go out and try to install the new crank position sensor. Turns out there’s too much run out on the wheel and it spins on an elliptical axis (poor machining) and it’s either too far or too close to the pick up. Too far and it doesn’t read. Too close and the pickup gets destroyed. <— what happened to the old one.
Gonna need to buy another wheel, probably another balancer, and pay a machinist to do it right, rather than my usual garage hack job for this one, unfortunately.

It runs. At the exhaust shop today getting new pipes from the headers back. Considering selling because I'm afraid I'll break it again and wont be able to fix it.Still has a CEL that comes on after you get a block from the house, but hasn't thrown a code that concerns me yet. Still emissions stuff that I've removed.

About an 1/8 total. Probably a 16th from center. I’m gonna buy a new wheel and take it to someone to make it fit
I've yet to pull the balancer off, but I have an idea... I'm going to remove the trigger wheel and open up the hole in the middle just a hair. Then, put 4 small magnets between the balancer and the trigger wheel to hold in place. From there, I should be able to use a micrometer to adjust the trigger wheel slightly until I feel like it's as centered as I can possibly get it. Then weld it back and slide the magnets out.
...Or will this be another exercise in futility?
I also have a couple of buddies who have sold off the powerful motors in their cars and bought stockish motors to replace them with in an attempt to get back to weekend cruiser status. I miss driving mine and haven't even begun to fight the turbo demons once this thing gets running again. I'm really fighting the urge to take the turbo stuff off and go back NA for the sake of getting it on the road again.... But that would be the second turbo project I've abandoned.... Sigh.

Your friends are smart and they're likely tired of all of the headache, down time, and expense that comes with having "custom" high HP vehicles regardless of make and model. Trust me Collin, you'll be back on jack stands eventually if you see this through and you'll throw more disposable income at it and keep fighting the fight that is Hot Rodding. You may tire of it or maybe you won't. You know from experience what challenges and potential pitfalls are ahead of you if you stay the course, you can either make peace with that fact or you can change it accordingly.
For me with having my kids as a priority and being more sensible with my money, I chose reliability and getting seat time in my car so I can enjoy it on the road, not in my garage!
I know where one is too. I don't think he'd trade though. At any rate, a N/A 351 done properly would be plenty.
