First start up using megasquirt.. 1992 5.0.

Honestly I just wanted to see, many ways to get the job done. If it works it works!

so i guess its time for me to get my closed loop inital values table set up.. cause its bogging down when i start it hot... starts fine when cold.. but its not reving up like it should on a hot start, seems like the tables set up just alittle too low for start up

Thats the cranking duty% table you need to adjust

got to do a decent drive tonight... but the oscillating idle is still there.. i think my settings are too aggressive.. ive been tryin to get the idle i had before at 15 degrees of timing cant seem to do it since we put my idle at 17degrees of timing and its not goin the way i thought.. i kind liked the idle i had before at 15 degrees of timing. it was steady and i didnt have all this trouble of oscillating idle when all the loads were on.

nevermind dam coolant temp wasnt above 180.. so it didnt trigger the manual settings.. im gonna switch that out to just assist period on CL idle.. ive got a car show this weekend on saturday.. and its quite the distance away, so hopefully i can get this ironed out before then.. i dont have much time now since im back workin LOL... dead tired but tunings gotta get done.. lol

what would cause closed loop target rpm to go from 825 to 1062 ,898 and back to 825 during a long cruise?
Ive been tryin to figure out how to slice a up a datalog thats too long to load on stangnet but i cant figure that out so ill just zip file it.. but half way thru my ride home the target rpm went from 825 up to 1062 and slowly back down to 825... so i figured id ask. also im finally back from the logging camp for 2 days.. so im able to drop some money to ya steve.. wont be much but ill be able to start payin on my class bill

hey would it be safe to drive with ego correction off? ive been doing alot of autotuning on hard and very hard and it seems to be doing alright.. but its taking alot of drives to get a decent Ve table, seems like its fighting the O2 sensor. When it adds it removes and when it removes it adds lol. i kno you cant rush dialing in stuff but i was wondering if i turned off ego correction and just drove normal would it get dialed in to the proper afr target quicker?. also am i gonna have to change alot of my tune when i do my build? im gonna be tearing into my motor either tonight or tomorrow and putting the top end on,, cobra upper intake/lower 70mm throttle body. 30lb injectors TF twisted wedges 170cc 61cc Trickflow stage one camshaft.. i wont be adding the turbo until i get the build tuned..

Absolutely you can perfectly safe. Just know that at some point you will get to where you're within 3% of a correct Fuel table at that point your done I think you're pretty close if you post a log for me I'll punch it into my histogram and I'll check it

What is oscillating? Are you seeing the oscillation in the factory tach? You may have to remove the idle advance from it and add to the base timing table.

its only doing it at idle when theres loads.. i think my idle range VE's are off abit cause when i start and its idling for abit after the ASE and WUE its running around 14.6 and 15.0 on start up.. but when i pull up to a set of lights its idling around 13.5 which is perfect.. it just seems to fall below target and take to big of a change to get back to target.. ive tried just about every setting you can think of and it still does it

this datalog is me tryin a bunch of different settings for the adaptive idle advance "ignore the tps i tossed the BBK one and added a new Oem one".. i can get it to be almost perfect as you can see by the end of the datalog but when i give it gas and it settles it goes up and down alot before it catches itself... i think its the transitions of VE in my idle area that are causing it.. so im doing the math on my idle cells to see where abouts i should be and the math is saying that i should have my cells that are "54" they should be like 58-59 to help keep it from doing what its doing

its just a pain in the ass... cause before i actually drove the car i had a steady idle with zero fluctuations with no electrical loads and with loads.. didnt flutter at all... then we bump the timing from 15 to 17 on idle and i cannot get it to not fluctuate. im almost tempted to go back to the old settings of 15* of timing at idle and do the advance settings of set value that i had to try that.. cause that idle with the loads was steady..
tomorrow ill take a datalog and even a video to show you what im talking about.. cause its annoying..
