Since I didn’t drop the engine in decided to switch out the brake line to the rear axle. The new one is in 2 pieces, which makes install way easier. First piece installed.

I’ll tackle the last portion another night. About 2’ of line to the center soft line.

I agree. It’s more expensive obviously, but finished product is way better.

total cost in SS lines? $180 for the front engine bay lines. $80 for this line to the rear. $40 for a single SN95 line to the prop valve. I will change the rear axle lines at some point.

final line to install at the axle. Then I can bleed the brakes. Baer claims no need to bench bleed their MC. I find that interesting. I have everything tight other than this rear line so guess I’ll find out shortly. Car will be a true roller then.

Finished cleaning up for the day. Can now sit down and post.

so, plan #1 didn’t go well. I had to work alone due to Covid quarantine. My son has symptoms and has a test pending (we think it’s a cold) so I was unable to recruit help. Installing engine and trans together without help....sucks. I tried, but no matter what I did I couldn’t get it finessed in without help. So I aborted

I pulled the trans off. I’ll just have to do it from the bottom.

After that, was real easy to set it in place.

So, until I get the trans in, it’s hard to see if I have clearance on the steering shaft. At the angke I think it needs to be at, I have 1/4” clearance, which should be fine.

however, I don’t have clearance here, so I need to adjust this.

MILES of working clearance underneath with the aftermarket K-member. It’s like nothings even there. Tons of oil pan clearance, tons of steering shaft clearance. It’s like the ultimate hotdog down a highway.

next up, install the trans, but a stifflers x-member. Then driveshaft and exhaust.

Ive had my 427 and 4r in/out of the car together several times now by myself. Cheap harbor freight load leveler (I just upgraded to a better one this time around) and putting the hoist to its furthest extension is all I needed just tilt it all the way back Throw a couple blankets over the fenders and firewall if you're more concerned about scrathes than i

New lens finally showed up....and not broken.

I like the Daniel Carpenter piece better than the Scott Drake piece. The DC piece is made on the OEM molds. If you didn’t know it was new, you’d think it was original. Has the identical Ford markings of the one I took off.

I have LEDs in here, but can’t test til I can power up the car. Or maybe I can figure out how to bench test it. Hmm...

Found a 9v and test leads. Hooked up to the cluster and tested the leds. Had to flip a few, but evettthing works.

tossed it in. Notice the speedo needle doesn’t sit at 0mph but I need to drive the car a bit to see if it’s off a tad first. I was gonna paint the needles red anyway so rather pull the needle off once and set it then.

I painted mine red on my original cluster. I think next time I’ll try something closer to orange.

When I pulled the needles, I made note at where they sat when I cyckes the key to on. I put a little painters tape under the needle and marked where they pointed. Full tank of gas helps too.

you have to use a little nail polish remover to remove the white paint on the needle first. Don’t paint over that.

at some point I’ll do this to mine. I’ve got bigger fish to fry right now

I wonder how blue needles would look on the stock face? Hmm

So here’s a stupid question.

I bought a reproduction set of Saleen Momo cruise button mounts. This. (Not my car)

I like the look...a lot. I was going to stuff a set of buttons in there and call it a day. My car doesn’t have cruise control. Only option the car didn’t get.

am I crazy for thinking about putting it in? Looks like I can get all the oem stuff pretty easy off eBay. My fenders are off, so easy to install the stuff. I can prob pull the dash off real quick and install the vac dump on the pedals pretty easy.

the thing is...I don’t use cruise. Reason I don’t is because this car never had it. I grew up using my foot as cruise control. Now my DD has adaptive cruise and I still don’t use it. But for some reason I want functional OEM cruise on this car now.

here’s the bracket I bought. Speedy I know...but I’m building what I want

I have cruise and I barely ever use it but sometimes...

The last 'memorable' time I used cruise in the Fox was coming up over the Allegheny mountains. It got scary fast. LoL

The speedometer stayed pretty much the same. The boost gauge, however... :O_o:

I turned it off. :)

Who did you buy the Daniel Carpenter lens through? I can't seem to find anyone.

I think it’s crazy to install cruise control you’ll never use. But those buttons do look awesome. Who are you kidding.. you’re gonna install buttons connected to nothing??
