You need:
A GT-40 lower plenum
75-80 mm Accufab Throttle Body
60 lb injectors
Walbro 255L HP Fuel Pump
Anderson Ford Motorsports N/A Power Pipe
Aftermarket MAF
Tune (however you decide to approach this)
Full length subframe connectors if you don't already have this. (comes on the Saleen)
This supercharger is good [all over] and not just at the top. Boost = Right Freakin' Meow - NICE

I don't know about shops in your area. Maybe @gkomo might or some of our other Cali members.
I will say that if you plan to have a shop do the install, you should let them give you an estimate for the whole deal and let them gather the parts.
It's been 20+ years since I put mine together but I worked up a ballpark list:
Current ballpark prices:
Kenne Bell 2.1L Flowzilla Fox tuner kit, including GT-40 lower: $5,750
75–80 mm Accufab throttle body: $330–$380
Genuine Siemens Deka 60 lb/hr injectors, set of eight: $450–$520
Genuine Walbro/TI 255 LPH high-pressure fuel pump and installation kit: $100–$140
New fuel filter: $15–$25
Anderson 4-inch N/A Power Pipe: $320–$400
Large aftermarket MAF that won’t peg: $200–$450
Chip/tuning hardware and professional tune: $700–$1,200
Wideband O₂ system: $200–$250
Boost/vacuum gauge: $60–$200
One-step-colder spark plugs: $25–$45
Cap, rotor, coil and quality plug wires, if needed: $150–$225
PCV/check-valve, hose and fittings: $30–$75
Intake/throttle-body gaskets, coolant and miscellaneous installation supplies: $75–$150
OPTIONAL OR CONDITION-DEPENDENT:
Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump: $310–$350
Kenne Bell Boost-a-Spark: $310–$365
Better clutch: $500–$1,200
Quality replacement harmonic balancer, if needed: $200–$350
Gauge pod and incidental wiring: $50–$150
Supporting parts besides the blower kit: $2,650–4,060
Flowzilla tuner kit: $5,750

The current Flowzilla tuner kit is about $5,750 and includes the GT-40 lower. Once you add the throttle body, injectors, pump, Power Pipe, large MAF, wideband, gauges, tune and installation incidentals, figure roughly $9,000 in parts and tuning before labor. More if the ignition, clutch or drivetrain needs attention.

Do it YOURSELF. There is NO BETTER FEELING than somebody wanting to SEE your newley blown rides motor. And saying I DID when they ask who installed. Plus the saved coin=more mods. YIPPEEE
I know on my G8 people quoting $1000+ labor to install a cam made me jump in myself. Wasnt that bad.
I did my D1 myself back in tha day, definitely the BIGGEST project I had taken on till then. My second was Long tubes 98Z28.

Can’t speak for the kenne bells but the Paxton was fairly easy to install. I did it myself with no prior experience. This forum was a tremendous help with little nit picky things the instructions didn’t cover well.
As for shops in San Diego, I know of only a couple but have no experience with any. I bought my car to be a project car and to learn how to do things so I try to do everything myself. I probably wont do shortblock work or tuning though whenever the time comes to do that stuff.
I could help with shop recs tho if needed.

IF you street drive ALOT, you are gonna want something intercooled. UNLESS you drive in cooler climates.
Forced induction=HEAT. HEAT=ENGINES WORST ENEMY
All the different kits have +s and -s.
Figure what things you have to have AND you dont care about.
I myself wanted something I could beat on anytime ANYWHERE that commanded respect. The first time I drove down Main Street with my D1 was worth the time and effort. I stopped at a nonpopular pee spot, peeed. When I came out, car WAS SURROUNDED. BEST feeling in the world. Well smoking Vettes on the highway(there jungle not nine)was nice too.
