Hey to all, first time to Stangnet, hope to find a lot of answers and hopefully can help some. My current issue is I started my Stang for the first time yesterday after a lot of work and it will not shut off by key. Some history....when I got it, it would not start with the key, i ran a new wire (Bue/red) from switch to solenoid bypassing NSS, fuse and plug in harness and it worked. I have replaced the solenoid and the ignition switch both, still no turn off. All the wires look fine behind switch. Any ideas???

What ignition do you have? Stock points & coil? Check the wire from the I terminal on the solenoid. It ties into the coil Pos circuit pink resistor wire and should give full 12v to the coil, but ONLY when cranking.
my first guess is you have a short or incorrect wiring which is bypassing the ignition switch thus the ignition is always staying on.
sounds like you wire you ran is connected to the switch somehow to create a always on condition.
You said when you irst got it that the car didnt start by key. Did it crank at all?
If it did not crank then I would look at the NSS not closing the circuit. You can unplug the this in the engine compartment and just run a wire to bypass the switch without going to the solenoid. if the 67 is the same as the 69s, then 1 pair of wires is the backup light, the other is the NSS.
I would removed the wire you added, bypass the NSS the way I suggested, then try to start and shut it off.
When I went from auto to manual in my 69, I just cut the 2 wires going to the NSS, put a connector on the end of them and shorted it to itself.

I replaced my solenoid once with a new one and it was defective, kept the motor cranking and would not stop. Might try another solenoid but if it happened with your old one I'd look at those bypass wires you ran.

What type of work? Do you have an electric fan now? What type of accessories did you add? Try pulling any relays if you added any. You may be getting voltage feedback to the ignition circuit even after shutting off the ignition switch.

Possibly a wire or two are in the wrong position on the voltage regulator plug.

I have a dozen times and it all seems right......the only thing unique and not sure if this matters is the ignition wire (green/red) was broken off from the VR plug...thought I had found the problem...NOPE, so I ran that wire directly to the prong on the VR instead of through the plug...would that matter?
