That feeling you get when your test drive runs worse after tuning than before
only to find you didn't put a plug wire back on .
Stupid stupid stupid...

Time to play with the Window washer pump.
It had all this crap built up keeping it from spinning.
Cleaned was all it needed so reinstalled with drain hole down. New Plastic Y fitting on the lines. Good2Go!
Little victories I tell ya!

Cleaned the Tefba/reline radiator filter.
Turd in the middle is the doughnut magnet. Looks like it does most the work.
Not as bad as I thought it would be. The scale is of course endless with 55 yr old iron block.
Much easier to service than the Gano.

Console E brake and shifter rubber seal replacement.

The plastic frame that helps hold the E brake rubber seal is broken but making it work.

Shifter Bezel has two little plastic tabs and zip nuts to hold rubber in place, one which is broke off already.
Even though I was trying to be super careful i broke other one quick. I saved the metal support frame and reinstalled everything with clear silicone.
It works. No more French Fries down the hole. Cleaned around printing on lens with q tip too was afraid letters would smear.

Today after a short ride the temp gauge climbed way up so I pulled over.
Inline radiator filter is always suspect but wasn't bad.
Water pump leaking lots out hole on bottom.
Time for some new water pump action.
My first break down with new (used) engine. I walked a couple of blocks up the road and bought a gallon of water for it.
Then walked back once to refill it and was able to drive it home after it cooled down a bit.
It never pegged the gauge so I'm thinking no collateral damage.

Got my brackets made and they bolt right to bottom of the bumper. I trimmed the side against the radiator another 1.5 inches.
Now it moves spoiler 2 inches up and 1.5 inches back but maybe thats enough.
Clears a regular curb now. Barely. Well see how long till its bashed up, AGAIN!
One steep driveway or one of them overgrown speed bumps and its toast.

Note the fine Stangnet plate... It rained and only lasted for this picture before the paper was melting.
Might have to print another

I do the same on a regular basis. My front end sits WAY too low for any of that nonsense!!

And I agree, those plates would be pretty cool!!

I'd wear one. Even on the V. @MRaburn

As for the brackets: Post up a sales thread for them and link the thread to your sig. You guys know how to bump a thread like that and also keep it tidy. GTG

Water pump came in from FlowKooler!
Oh yeah, its the good stuff!

My plan looks like this.
FlowKooler supplied the pump and Robert Shaw high flow Thermostat.
Rock Auto for a couple of budget priced gates hoses
Still waiting on a intake hose spring to keep hose from collapsing when hot.

I've read about drilling a small relief hole in thermostat, but sb fords have the little 90 degree bypass hose so is that only for chevbies?

This water pump has a heart of gold

No Really, I looked inside
Ohh so Shiny!

Here the son and I got the old water pump off
With a D7TE number it might not be the original pump (T = truck) but close.
You can see the river marks out the old lower hole. Paint was only a couple months old
All underhood detailing is dirty from radiator fluid explosion. Some how it seems to have cause an exhaust leak also now.

Painted the new one ford Blue. Back flushed the block and then Radiator into a bucket to see how much crap I could get out.
Wasn't that much just some big scale pieces.
Got it put back together and back in business.

Water pump / cooling seems to work correctly So its getting some real radiator fluid and some water wetter.
The new pump really pushed some scale onto the doughtnut magnet since installing pump 16 miles / 4 trips ago.
I back flushed the block as best I could again by using street pressure and this little adaptor thing and pulling thermostat.
I hope its all OK for a while now.
